How to donate your £120 Deliveroo credit from American Express Gold to charity
Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission. See here for all partner links.
If you have the American Express Preferred Rewards Gold credit card, you will know that you receive £120 of annual Deliveroo credit. (We did a full article on the best benefits of the American Express Gold credit card which is here.)
You receive 2 x £5 credits per calendar month, and each is triggered by a Deliveroo transaction of £5+.
If you don’t use your credits, you should know that you can donate your credit to a good cause as part of Deliveroo’s ‘Full Life’ fundraising campaign which provides meals to families in need.

How to donate to Full Life via Deliveroo
If you’ve never claimed the Deliveroo cashback before, you need to opt-in via the ‘Offers’ tab on your American Express Gold card. This is a ‘once only’ registration.
On the home page of the Deliveroo app, type ‘Full Life’ into the search box.
You can donate money to Full Life in the same way that you would order a standard meal. Select the £5 donation option and add it to your basket.
For reasons I don’t fully understand, there is a 1p delivery charge added but I can think we can treat this as negligible.
The £5.01 is charged to your American Express Gold card as usual, and a day or so later you receive the £5 cashback credit.
American Express pays you £5 in cashback as long as you haven’t already used your 2 x £5 monthly credits. You are 1p down (and this is offset by 5 Membership Rewards points) but someone else gets a £5 meal.
PS. When you’ve made your donation, it is treated as a ‘real’ Deliveroo order so you get a delivery timeslot etc showing on your phone. Don’t worry, no-one and no food is turning up!
