Wide-open reward availability at Hilton’s Conrad Maldives Rangali resort

Hilton’s flagship Conrad Maldives resort is wide open for reward availability between mid May and the end of September.

Due to the ‘5-4-4’ deal available to anyone with any level of Hilton Honors status, you’d be looking at 480,000 points for a five night stay.

The snag, of course, is that June-August is rainy season in The Maldives, although the storms usually come in bursts with sun before and afterwards. May and September may be better.

Here is availability for May as at 10am Wednesday:

and for September:

Conrad Maldives Hilton Honors points

Nights which do not show at 120,000 points only have premium rate availability which is poor value for points.

Here is our very detailed Conrad Maldives Rangali review published last year.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (February 2023)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

Do you know that holders of The Platinum Card from American Express receive FREE Hilton Honors Gold status for as long as they hold the card?  It also comes with Marriott Bonvoy Gold, Radisson Rewards Premium and MeliaRewards Gold status.  We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here and you can apply here.

Did you know that the Virgin Atlantic credit cards are a great way of earning Hilton Honors points? Two Virgin Points can be converted into three Hilton Honors points. The Virgin Atlantic cards are the only Visa or Mastercard products in the UK which can indirectly earn Hilton Honors points. You can apply here.

You can also earn Hilton Honors points indirectly with:

    What is the ‘5-4-4’ deal?

  • krys_k says:

With so many blogs on both sides of the Atlantic I’m interested to know why Frequent Miler (which I’ll admit I never knew about) is the most equivalent to HfP?

    • Rob says:

Older ‘seen it all’ writers who don’t patronise their audience. It is more ‘pointsy’ than us though and more analytical – we tend to tell you something is true, they like to spend 500 words proving it via first principle maths 🙂

      • krys_k says:

        Cool. Will check them out.

      • Coleslaw says:

It is a LOT more focused on points and general deals. I do appreciate their analytical approach.

I would say the major difference is that they don’t accept freebies from hotels and airlines, which I personally think is a better approach.

        • Rob says:

If you are living in the middle of nowhere in the US, it’s very easy to have a policy of ‘no freebies’ (and they do take them, Greg was on the Bilt trip to Branson’s new Caribbean resort). If you can be in Heathrow in 40 minutes from your home, as I can, you can accept them.

That said, HfP is a big business now. We really couldn’t give a toss about the odd free flight or hotel here or there. If we do stuff, we do it purely for editorial purposes. If Sinead or I go away it means abandoning our respective spouses and kids which we try to avoid – Andaz Prague was the first hotel review trip I had done for three and a half years. You’ll remember that last year I gave a 5-night luxury Bahamas press trip, with Virgin Upper Class flights, to a mate of mine because no-one in the office could be bothered.

          • Coleslaw says:

Yes, although BILT isn’t a hotel or airline :).

I feel like press trips for flights are less of an issue than hotels. For flights you have reasonably standardised levels of service by cabin, lounges, etc.

For hotels there’s so much more variability and opportunities for “special treatment”.

Not to say HFP isn’t reasonably impartial, but the minute I see mention of “sponsored by Marriott” or the like I am immediately sceptical

          • Andi F says:

I’m happy to provide you with a full, concise-yet-comprehensive review and relevant pictures if the Bahamas situation arises again! Just let me know 🙂

  • Fraser says:

What would be the cash cost for 5 nights?

  • Drlim says:

What is the best way to amass 480000 points? I can buy a maximum of 80000 this year with 80000 bonus.

    • Rob says:

Someone with an active account could also buy and then transfer them to you for free. Not sure what the annual transfer cap is.

  • Ben says:

We are in SE Asia for 6 weeks over the summer (2 adults, 2 kids under 6). Are there any good Hiltons that the baseline room fits a family of 4? I’ve got 500k points to burn.

We’ve done Conrad Samui a couple of times – but when we only had one child.

    • Axel says:

Conrad Bali, child friendly facilities & pool. Good recognition of status.
