Hilton rolling out ‘keep your Diamond status with 1 stay’ – check ‘My Offers’ online

Hilton is rolling out its ‘keep your 2022 status’ promotion to more people – including me.

You may have received an email about this yesterday.

If you didn’t, you may still be targeted. I saw the offer under ‘My Offers’ on the Hilton website last week, and indeed had completed a stay – although it hasn’t posted yet – before the email arrived.

You can check ‘My Offers’ here. Our full review of Hilton Honors is here.

What’s the deal?

As you can see from the image above, if you had Diamond Elite status in Hilton Honors last year but did not retain it, Hilton is basically giving it back to you for minimal effort.

You need to do just one stay before 31st March 2023 and your status will be rolled over. It will run until 31st March 2024.

This is a complete no-brainer if you are impacted. Even if you end up doing a mattress run at your nearest Hampton for £75 or so, you’d get your money back on one stay later in the year if it got you executive lounge access and a decent upgrade.

In theory there are variants of this offer which require two or three stays, although I don’t know anyone who received one.

If you had Gold Elite status and lost it, I believe there is a similar offer with three variants, requiring either one, two or three stays. I wouldn’t necessary do a mattress run to achieve this, since free breakfast – the key benefit of Gold – isn’t likely to save you as much as the cost of pointless hotel nights. Of course, if you need a hotel stay anyway ….

If you didn’t get an email, you may still be targeted

Hilton seems to be rolling out these emails slowly, possibly to test the results and possibly to control any rush to book its cheapest hotels!

If you click here and log in it will bring up the ‘My Offers’ page of hilton.com.

Conclusion

If you thought that your Hilton Honors Diamond status was gone for good, you may have a chance to retain it for minimal cost. It is well worth doing so.

For comparison:

  • Radisson, Hyatt and IHG are not (yet?) offering any deals to people who lost their status

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

This makes me feel so much better about going out of my way to hit the reduced 2022 stay target to requalify properly!

As Diamond now has such little value practically with little realistic benefits beyond a free breakfast and an often ropey lounge (where applicable), the point of diamond renewal is starting to escape me, it’s just become a bad habit after 20 years as a diamond and still some way from lifetime.

IHG has it right in keeping real benefits tied to actual stays in the brand rather than your credit card choice.

    • meta says:

I am not sure how you’re not Lifetime Diamond or even close with 20 years because even if you discount the last three years, you would be over 1000 nights required.

      • John says:

I’ve been diamond since 2012 and have about 250 lifetime nights

30 mostly one-night stays a year for 20 years only adds up to around ~650 nights.

      • TGLoyalty says:

You could get it with 20/25 stays? So just 20/25 nights

  • berneslai says:

Is there any way I can tell if I have qualified already or not? It’s in my offers and I stayed with Hilton on January 5th which looks like it *may* have triggered the offer.

However, my app still says that I need to complete another 59 stays to retain Diamond.

    • BJ says:

That counter is for stays this year to retain status for 1/4/24-31/3/25.

      • Jon says:

Log in to your account on the web site. My app shows exactly the same as you, but going in via web browser shows the “great news, you’ve kept diamond” message.

        • NG says:

Nice one Jon, just checked this myself and I’ve got it too from a stay beginning of month. Result

  • Will says:

Mine has auto enrolled me, I did 2 stays already (before the auto enrol presumably) Jan 1-3 and Jan 3-5 and I’m now in the position of staying in the qualifying period but the offer not having triggered.

    Will email them.

    • BJ says:

Small print stares adjustments and notifications through 31 March so you’re probably fine already but no harm in sending an email.

  • gl says:

Just came here to say that I actually did paid stays to chase diamond in 2022. Am I an idiot?

  • strickers says:

Can you actually see your expiry date in the app?

    • Rob says:

Not sure you can – this is a common question.

      • strickers says:

I wonder if they intentionally obfuscate it so people don’t stop booking when they’ve requalifued?

        • BJ says:

They can withdraw it any time so in theory they could take a million nonrefundable night booking abd then pull the plug…

    • Jon says:

Only place I’ve ever seen the expiry date is in the monthly statement emails they send out.

  • Safety Card says:

The app info is different to the desktop website info. My App is showing 59 nights but the desktop is showing as renewed

    • strickers says:

Thanks, website states ‘Congratulations on reaching Diamond! You’ve stayed 1 night this year.’ To be fair I stayed quite a few nights last year and this will also make me switch a few stays from IHG to Hilton over the next 12 months.

    • NG says:

      Same

  • Lady London says:

Isn’t it good that this concession proves that Hilton have their finger on the pulse of upcoming stays in their hotels and are moving to support their hoteliers. Even if yet another extension is being done for just a little.

I agree with those who say it’s time for some new reward for those who actually have done the stays that were required to keep Diamond status up till the end of last year.

Perhaps, as they inevitably roll out the miserable almost worthless food & beverage credit to the rest of the world beyond North America next year, Hilton will follow IHG’s example and make free breakfast still available but as an opt-in choice after a number of nights or stays credited. Much as IHG which has done this for lounge access – requiring stays not just status.

    • BJ says:

A bottle of water and a snack at Hampton might yet prove to be the best Honors benefit around 🙂

  • a9504477@gmail.com says:

Is there actually a way to tell if one has (re)qualified for Diamond other than waiting until end/March?
