Decent Finnair business class flight deal to Delhi

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Finnair, a partner of British Airways in the oneworld airline alliance, is offering some good deals to Delhi in business class.

You can travel at any point in the next year. Availability is scattered but Finnair has an excellent website which shows you the price for every date in its calendar – you will know the price before you’ve selected dates.

From London, the price is £1,563 return.

Finnair business classs flight deal Delhi

It is cheaper from other European starting points, with the cheapest being Budapest at €1,260 (£1,100).

You need to note that these are ‘Business Light’ fares. You do NOT get airport lounge access, priority security, priority boarding ….. nothing except your seat.

The exception is BA Silver and Gold cardholders and equivalents, who get lounge access and other benefits as part of their oneworld status.

It terms of British Airways tier points, you would earn 80 + 140 + 140 + 80 = 440 tier points return if you started in London. You earn fewer tier points if you fly from outside the UK to Helsinki (the UK number is inflated for historical reasons) with the short haul legs only earning 40 tier points each way.

Whilst you are not guaranteed to get it, here is our review of the impressive new Finnair business class seat, image below. The old seat isn’t bad either – I would still prefer it to British Airways Club World, albeit not Club Suite.

As you are charged in £ for UK departures, the best way to pay is with Amex Gold. This earns double points (2 per £1) on airline transactions, and as you are paying in Sterling you won’t be impacted by Amex’s 3% FX fee. Our new 2023 review of American Express Preferred Rewards Gold was published today.

Just flown with Finnair to Bangkok on a Business Light booking. Our Gold status got us fast track, lounges and a 32kg suitcase each.
The lounge in Helsinki is amazing- it is possible!!
Apart from my case detouring to Oslo all was good

    • meta says:

I don’t like the new OW lounge in Helsinki. Food options are limited and if it’s busy be prepared to queue long time for alcohol. It’s a zoo, just like BA lounges. Plaza Premium was much more civilised.

      • Nancy says:

But the Platinum Wing is nothing like BA FLounge (which is often zoo).

  • pauldb says:

Hampton now taking bookings from June 1st.

  • Neil says:

Hi Rob – where does it state that limit of HH for purchase has been tripled???

I’m being offer a 100% bonus but terms and conditions of my page state…

“ The 100% Points bonus campaign is available for purchases of 5,000 or more Points made between March 28, 2023 12:00 am ET and May 9, 2023 at 11:59pm ET. Members may purchase a maximum of 80,000 Points per calendar year.”

    Obviously 80,000 + 80,0000 = 160,000 …no options beyond that are available.

    • Rob says:

In the email I got 🙂

    • lcylocal says:

I was offered the 240,000+100% (minus points purchase made earlier in the year), player 2 has 80,000+100%. I know someone else offered 160,000+100%, and 80,000+90%. No obvious reason as to who is offered what other than I’m Diamond and other accounts have no status.

On the new Hampton, for those not familiar, Brick Lane can get quick lively at night, but I still think this is a really good location to be in visiting London. Ignore the Brick Lane curry restaurants with their hustlers outside, and either go to Efes the Turkish restaurant on the corner of Osborne Street and Whitechapel High Street. Or if you want curry pop round to Tayaabs or Needoo’s (both BYOB) which are a 5 minute walk away.

  • Rich says:

I am only being offered the below, perhaps as I did the offer last year?

Minimum 5,000 Points purchase required to qualify for the 80% bonus offer. Members can purchase up to 80,000 Points during this promotion. Offer ends May 9.

    • Richard Peters says:

Must depend on status/history as I’m being offered 240,000 and I bought last year.

  • Qrfan says:

Rob, I think it is worth noting that you DO get lounge access, seat selection, a checked bag and priority services with finnair business light if you have oneworld sapphire or above. If you have BA silver, for example, it’s actually pretty tough to justify the extra cost for a regular business ticket unless you really need two checked bags. ET face a great article on this and confirmed the above with finnair, plus their website covers most of it anyway.

  • Ian says:

I’ve just returned with finnair lhr to bkk returned sin to lhr all 4 legs on the a350 on a business light. I’m silver ba and as long as you make sure you enter your number on the booking seat selection 23kg bag and lounge access is all included and it was never queried at any stage. Your status is still printed on your boarding pass

  • Letsfly says:

I’m only offered at Hilton 80,000 plus 72,000 bonus.

  • Andrew J says:

Probably also worth noting that you do get food and drink on board “nothing except your seat” might be a bit miseleading.
