Canopy by Hilton Seychelles

Seychelles

Canopy by Hilton Seychelles

Hilton is the latest brand to open a new hotel in the Seychelles, which is growing to rival some of the other Indian Ocean islands in terms of upscale resorts. This will be the first Canopy resort in the world – the brand has only offered city hotels so far – with 120 guest rooms on Anse à la Mouche beach, Mahé. There will be two restaurants, a couple of pools and, of course, access to the beach with its crystal clear waters. Opening early 2024. The hotel website is here.

Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island

Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island

Canopy isn’t the only brand to get a new property in the Seychelles …. Hilton will also be opening a Waldorf Astoria in the country. As befits the brand, this will be on a pristine atoll called Platte Island 130km south of Mahé with a collection of 50 ocean-front villas. You’ll need to take a small propeller plane to get here, although there’s a runway on the island. The resort seems like a must-visit for anyone into wildlife, with native Hawksbill turtles, eagle rays, manta rays and whale sharks. Opening early 2024. The hotel website is here.

Hampton by Hilton Old Street, London

United Kingdom

Hampton by Hilton Old Street, London

OK, it’s not the Seychelles, but we’re fans of Hilton’s Hampton brand. Any new centrally located Hampton is a welcome addition, particularly once the Old Street roundabout and station development completes early next year. Five minutes walk from the station, this Hampton will feature just 107 rooms and cater to both business and leisure travellers, with an Italian restaurant and 24 hour snack menu. As with all Hamptons, it will also offer free hot breakfast for all guests. Opening early 2024. The hotel website is here.

Keight Hotel Opatija, Curio Collection

Croatia

Keight Hotel Opatija, Curio Collection

The stratospheric rise in Croatia’s popularity continues with the introduction of Hilton’s first Curio Collection hotel in the country. A boutique property, it will offer 54 guest rooms and a rooftop pool and bar overlooking the town’s historic red-tiled roofs. The hotel is also just a two minute walk away from the Sea. Opens early 2024. The hotel website is here.

Conrad Orlando

USA

Conrad Orlando

Delayed from 2023, this new hotel is opening with 533 rooms, 51 of which will be suites. The hotel is at the heart of a billion dollar new resort development that features an eight-acre public lagoon with turquoise waters with 20 acres of tropical beach, plus two 18-hole golf courses. The whole development borders Walt Disney World, making it an excellent spot for families. Opens early 2024. The hotel website is here.

Anglo American Hotel Florence, Curio Collection by Hilton

Italy

Anglo American Hotel Florence, Curio Collection by Hilton

If you’re looking for a quiet stay in Florence, then this Curio Collection hotel may be for you. Located in quiet neighbourhood on the outskirts of the historic city centre, it is a ten minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella Station and 2km from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Ponte Vecchio, and Uffizi Gallery. Rooms feature neo-deco styling and there’s alfresco dining in the hotel courtyard. Opens Summer 2024. The hotel website is here.

Duo Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton

Portugal

Duo Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton

The first of three new Hilton properties in Lisbon, the Duo Hotel is a conversion of a traditional 19th Century building linked to a modern, secondary extension. The hotel is relatively small, with just 75 rooms. A landscaped interior courtyard connects the two buildings and hosts alfresco dining in the evenings, whilst a Portuguese pasteleria will get you started in the mornings. Opens Spring 2024. It isn’t showing yet on hilton.com.

(Readers also flagged Legacy Hotel Cascais, part of Hilton’s Curio Collection. This is due to open in May.)

Conrad Singapore Orchard

Singapore

Conrad Singapore Orchard

Hilton will open its second Conrad hotel in Singapore with the rebranding and refurbishment of the former iconic Regent Hotel. This large development was designed by John C Portman Jr in the early 80s and features an architenctural atrium that has been sensitively refurbished. The hotel features 445 guest rooms including 46 suites as well as a collection of bars and a Michelin-restaurant. Opens January 2024. The hotel website is here.

Hilton Kathmandu

Nepal

Hilton Kathmandu

Anyone off on an adventure to the Himalayas will want to stay at the Hilton Kathmandu, situated in the heart of the Kathmandu Valley. This is a modern, new-build hotel just ten minutes from the airport and with views across the city and a rooftop pool. With 173 guest rooms, the hotel fuses modern architecture with unique, locally-inspired features and detailing. Opens early 2024. The hotel website is here.

  • C says:

Hilton is dead to me. 7 years of concurrent Diamond alas no more.

They need an additional status tier above Diamond a la Marriott Titanium / Ambassador.

Every proverbial man / woman and their dog is diamond.
No upgrades, Lounges like zoo’s (people sitting on the floor at B’ham NEC last year with their 6 bottles of beer and 3 plates of food: each).

    • BJ says:

Diamond was fine, they just need to stop producing fake elites. Family-planning is lost on the loyalty industry these days.

      • Tom says:

Fake elites? No idea what that means but I am happy with Hilton Diamond – free breakfast and use of Executive Lounge – what is not to like?

        • JonathanC says:

There’s a lot of people with status, that comes with their credit card, particularly a problem in the U.S., too many people with status, so it doesn’t really mean anything

    • S879 says:

Anyone availed this? Feedback is fine.

    • Sam says:

Not helped by these Hilton Aspire credit cards in the US. Diamond status over there can be attained by simply paying the annual card fee which is about the equivalent cost of a 3-night stay at a Hotel whereas in UK status is earned exclusively through paid stays at Hilton properties (as it should be) and without these ludicrous 200,000 sign up bonuses.
I know Lifetime Diamond has criteria of 10 years being Diamond plus 1 million base points, but whether Hilton distinguish between the two levels is another matter!

      • Rob says:

Card is $550 and comes with Diamond, $400 of Hilton credits and a free night certificate each year. Diamond is therefore effectively free.

  • Nate1309 says:

Any info on the Arlberg hotel? All seems to have gone quiet.

  • BJ says:

For anybody considering Nepal, it is one of those places you will find a much more rewarding experience if you stay with a local family or small guesthouse.

  • Gordon says:

Four new Hyatt properties opening in Nairobi Kenya, to complement the Hyatt Hemingway’s property in the Karen district.

All the below in the westlands area.
    Hyatt regency, Bookable now,
    Hyatt Place form 1/3/24,
    Hyatt House from 1/3/24,
Hyatt Diamonds Dream of Africa TBC.

  • Aston100 says:

Surprised the Saigon Hilton isn’t on that list.
I’ll likely be there soon after it opens this year.

    • Rob says:

Not sure if it was on the longer list that Hilton sent us, but we weighted hotels by their proximity to the UK and then by whether they were a core BA route, albeit with bonus points for novelty (Nepal).

    • Jay says:

Hilton Saigon is now open (soft) but Exec Lounge and Spa will open in the next month or so.

  • hackinjack says:

Anyone know if these 2 in Lagos, Algarve are still going ahead?
Expected to open in the summer of 2024, Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Lagos will be built next to the city’s marina.

I can’t see anything online to confirm or deny.
