Danish Air Transport, a small regional carrier which operates domestic routes across Denmark, Norway and Germany, will be operating a number of British Airways short haul flights this summer.

It is a wet lease, so DAT will providing the flight and cabin crew as well as the aircraft (1 x A320, 1 x A321). Standard British Airways service will be provided.

According to Aeroroutes, it will be popping up on selected flights to Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Bologna, Chania, Copenhagen, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Faro, Frankfurt, Ibiza, Lisbon, Madrid, Malaga, Marrakech, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa, Munich, Naples, Nice, Palermo, Palma, Pisa, Preveza, Riga, Rome, Stockholm, Thessaloniki, Tirana, Toulouse, Warsaw and Zakynthos.

If your flight is impacted and you booked before the operating airline was swapped, you should have received an email from British Airways. If you are unhappy with this change, you are allowed to change your flight to a same-day BA-operated service.

Feedback on the A320 aircraft is good so far, especially in terms of the crew and front row legroom.

The A321 has only just arrived and I’ve not seen any feedback. The aircraft is getting on a bit – it is 26 years old and spent the first 20 years of its life flying for Sichuan Airlines in China.

Flew on the DAT A320 from MAD to LHR recently. Crew were great, as was front row legroom. Bit odd to fly on a plane with no livery, but there you go.

  • Chrisdf says:

Booking a 5 for 4 night hilton reward stay plus 1 cash night on separate booking filling reward booking to make it 6. Any issues with this type of booking?

“Feedback on the A320 aircraft is good so far, especially in terms of the crew and front row legroom.”

Honestly, Rob, why would you make a statement focusing on the front row alone? I am confident this is what you only got as feedback, but can’t you see it comes out completely wrong, as if your audience is seating always in the first row? What would your average reader make out of this if flying economy?

So, allow me to shed some feedback for the other rows beyond 1, based on yesterday’s flight LHR-ATH on DAT A320 aircraft I had the displeasure to fly in row 15. It’s a very tight arrangement, the seat pitch must be one of the lowest in the industry, definitely worse than what is nowadays in modern A320/1neo. I’m 175cm tall and couldn’t move without hurting my knees and I got out totally cramped. Out of 1100 flights I remember, this must be on the top 5 worst, if not THE worst.

    • Rob says:

I hadn’t seen any other feedback except from Business passengers!

      • Sotirios A says:

Well now you have mine fro seat 15F, I hope it adds something to the mix 😉

  • D Morton says:

Just had the email from BA confirming our CE Athens’s to LHR will be on DAT. Explains the lavatory in the middle of the seat plan?? Seat map showing club 2+ 2 so assume it will be club Europe or us the entire flight economy??

  • Mel says:

BA also using DAT for long haul – I’ve just had an email re a flight LGW – UVF

  • Mrs Norwood says:

We’ve just the email that well now be flying with DAT. Can anyone confirm that TP will apply as per normal BA? It’s the trip I need to get me to silver so don’t want to miss out!

  • Pawel says:

    my BA926 affeced tirana route
booked via agency BA old agancy what i’m not allowed o free change…
    anoying BA,
I want to travel 3 days early which BA allowing I spoke wih Customer service but BA tell other things to agancy

  • David says:

BA have refused us a refund or a credit for our return flight to Chania which has switched to DAT. They offered to let us fly the day before or the day after – but no such flights exist!
