UPDATE – APRIL 2025:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.  Thank you.

Keep up to date with new hotel offers by signing up for our free daily or weekly newsletters.

Welcome to our regular round-up of the best hotel promotions currently running.

All of the information in this article can also be found on our ‘Hotel Offers’ page which contains details of all of the current offers, together with links to our major articles on each hotel scheme.  However, a positive response from readers – especially our 19,000 email subscribers – means we run this monthly article as a handy summary.

The good news this month is a HUGE influx of American Express cashback offers which partly makes up for the lack of official hotel promotions.

Whilst this article only focuses on the major hotel schemes, we should give an honorary mention to Global Hotel Alliance and its crazy 20th birthday promotion. Achieve the targets and you will receive $5,200 to spend at GHA hotels!

Where should you credit your stays for May 2024?

Remember that, irrespective of the offers below, there is never a single ‘best’ offer.

Some offers require multiple stays to maximise the bonus, which you might not do. Some require stays to be a minimum number of nights before a bonus is earned.

You need to factor in any elite status you have, which will earn you additional status bonuses.

More importantly, you need to be able to use the points. There is no value in earning a large bonus in a scheme where you will never go on to earn enough points to get a free night.

That said, you only have two options at the moment anyway:

Hilton Honors current offers

Hilton (Hampton, Conrad, Waldorf-Astoria etc)

Hilton has a promotion called ‘Double Base Points’.

You can register here.  Our full article is here. It runs until 2nd September.

You will earn double base points on all stays during the promotional period.

You need to register in advance of your first stay during the period via the Hilton website here.  Existing bookings count and all Hilton Honors hotels are taking part.

The Hilton booking page is here.

IHG One Rewards current offers

IHG One Rewards is offering 2,000 bonus points for every two nights you stay.

The promotion runs from 1st April to 31st May. Only cash nights count, not reward stays. Existing bookings are OK.

You can register here. Our full article on the promotion is here.

Whilst not hugely rewarding (we value 2,000 points at £8) some members were emailed with an additional bonus offer for points or double elite night credits which stacks on top of this one.

You can book your IHG stays here.

And finally ….

If you booking a luxury hotel, remember that we can offer you exclusive additional benefits at Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula and similar hotels.

Click here for details of our luxury hotel booking service in association with Bon Vivant / Virtuoso.  Feedback from readers who have used this service so far has been excellent and we have booked over £1.7 million of rooms so far.

  • JOHN MIDDLETON says:

I just looked at the Buy Points page on the Hilton Honors website and they are offering only 80% bonus not 100%. Buying the max possible would work out at a shade under 46p per point. Not bad, but disappointed that the bigger bonus is not showing

    • Rob says:

      Targetted unfortunately.

    • Blair Waldorf Salad says:

I think it’s 0.46p per point. Did you carry your decimal point? 🤓

  • Neil says:

For the small luxury hotels, does anyone know if you have to book it on SLH website, or can you do it directly with the hotel?

    • Gordon says:

I booked one in Bali through Emyr, and he was communicating directly to the hotel, so I guess directly with hotel would be ok, if your booking a flexible rate, you might as well book though a Bon Vivant / Virtuoso agent.

      • Neil says:

        Cool, thank you.

        • ExpatInBerlin says:

Make sure you check the list of participating hotels to see if the one you want is in included in the offer, I was looking at booking one I’m Slovenia the other day and on checking the list saw that none of the SLHs in Slovenia are included.

  • KG says:

Is there any downside in booking with Emyr if you are getting the same benefits from amex fine hotels? I find it helpful that Emyr is happy to place requests on early checkin etc on my behalf but wonder if I am missing anything.

    • Michael says:

Someone will correct me if I’m wrong but I believe Emyr can’t guarantee 4pm check-out as FHR gives you.

      • Rob says:

Correct. Emyr bookings rank above FHR for upgrades and you have Emyr on the phone to the hotel on arrival day ensuring any requests are in hand. If you must have 4pm though then you need FHR.

  • Redhand says:

Anyone else yet to receive their 250 Avios for registering with Marriott Bonvoy through HfP?

  • Chris says:

I do not have the Hilton £50 on £200 spend on my BAP card. Has anyone had any success with calling (chatting) with them and asking for a particular promotion to be added?

    • Blair Waldorf Salad says:

I said it was the reason I wanted to cancel my Plat card. Still got me nowhere .

    • Rob says:

      Can’t do this now.
