Two new American Express cashback offers launched

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Despite launching over £1,000 of cashback offers last week with groups including Hilton, IHG, Marriott, Small Luxury Hotels, Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines, Air France and KLM, it seems that Amex hasn’t finished yet.

Two additional travel deals have appeared.

Official Heathrow Parking

This is the first time that Official Heathrow Parking has run an Amex cashback offer as far as I can remember. You will get 10% cashback when you spend £50+ by 31st May.

The maximum cashback you can earn is £25 and you can only earn cashback on one transaction. It is valid on Short Stay, Long Stay, Business Meet & Greet, POD Parking and Valet Parking. You can check pricing and book here.

WorldHotels

American Express has also launched a new offer from the WorldHotels consortium.

If you haven’t heard of WorldHotels, it is a marketing group – rather like Preferred Hotels or Leading Hotels of the World – which lets hotels remain fully independent but share a common marketing platform. As their website puts it:

“WorldHotels is a proven soft brand solution for a curated collection of luxury & upscale independent properties.”

Assuming that your American Express card is targetted and that you register, you will receive £100 cashback when you spend £500 at a participating WorldHotels property.

The offer runs to 3rd July.

There are participating hotels across Europe but the UK ones are:

  • Bruntsfield Hotel, Edinburgh
  • Courthouse Hotel, London (Shoreditch)
  • Courthouse Hotel, London (Great Marlborough Street)
  • Gleddoch Golf & Spa Resort, Langbank
  • Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness
  • Ness Walk Hotel, Inverness
  • Royal Garden Hotel, London (Kensington High Street)
  • Ten Hill Place, Edinburgh
  • The Caesar Hotel, London (Queen’s Gardens W2)
  • The Crown, London (Cricklewood Broadway)
  • The Riverside, Salisbury
  • The Washington Mayfair Hotel, London (Curzon Street)

WorldHotels is a Virgin Flying Club partner. You will earn 500 Virgin Points per stay as you can see here. There are other airline partners too (Flying Blue and Miles & More are likely to be of most interest) but not Avios / British Airways.

  • Ned says:

Think they are being more selective than they used to be – i have been excluded for those that i have spent at this year. Some might say that’s the point of the offers – to encourage people to spend where they otherwise wouldn’t, but i wonder if it’s a relatively small amount for them that has resulted in bad taste for me

    • TGLoyalty says:

Others might say it’s completely random

Spent at all 3 Marriott, IHG and Hilton this year on my gold and got all 3.

      • Chrisasaurus says:

I think I have fewer offers than average, just generally – perhaps it’s in line with spend as I don’t put a lot through my card month to month

    • Adam says:

Same here. No marriott on plat or marriott card. I only marriott card for paying at marriott hotels, but never used plat for that.

      • TGLoyalty says:

No one I know has Marriott offer on the Marriott card yet, it’s probably coming later.

      • TGLoyalty says:

No one has mentioned it but the renders looks pretty good. Could be a good “night out” choice if it’s cheap enough

    • CJD says:

I got much better offers on my Gold than my BAPP, will be interesting to see if that changes now I’ve cancelled my Gold card.

  • Mike says:

Heathrow parking must be targeted, it’s not showing for me.

  • Gordon says:

Have world hotels, and parking offer, but these as in a lot of cases are too short notice for me, as I book further ahead, albeit not too far ahead, especially for parking, as it tends to rise, I am now looking at “Your parking space” and “Just Park” thanks to poster “Hampshirehog”

  • broomy23 says:

Heathrow parking is a rip off. I found a space on Your Parking Space which is a 20 minute bus ride from Heathrow for almost £100 less than Heathrow long stay. That was only for 6 days’ parking too.

    • Mark says:

Alas your car is not insured whilst parked on someone else drive.

      • Andrew. says:

        Can you clarify that?

I leave my car at my mate’s house in Milton Keynes and take the train to Scotland regularly. Why wouldn’t it be insured?

      • The Savage Squirrel says:

Sure that might be the case for you. Intrigued how you know the T&Cs of broomy23’s car insurance though? Good heads up, but better to state that it’s a good idea for each person to check this in their own policy…

      • Gordon says:

I was curious about this, so contacted “Your parking space” and received the below.
So as posters say, best check with your specific policy! Not sure what the implications are, if something happens to your vehicle, if you are parking “regularly” at an address other than the one you have given your insurance company as to where your vehicle is parked over night. But if you have a family member, or a friend living there, you’re covered so to speak.

I wonder how many people think about the insurance implications when booking through these companies!

        Hi Gordon,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

We understand you are enquiring about any parking coverage that might be offered when booking with us.

Please note: As a user of the YourParkingSpace platform, all drivers park at their own risk, and as such, any damages to your vehicle will need to be reported to the local authorities or insurance company.

you can check with your insurance provider about the risk coverage you are entitled to with your insurance as we cannot know this.

Please feel free to check out our Terms & Conditions https://www.yourparkingspace.co.uk/company/terms-conditions

      • broomy23 says:

My insurance policy with Aviva online does not mention any exclusion regarding this and I am leaving my car there for 6 days as a one-off. As far as I’m concerned, it’s covered as my car is parked at my main residence overnight most of the time.

Thanks for the guidance though, it made me check and other insurers may exclude this so I would definitely check if you’re unsure.

        • John says:

If it was excluded you wouldn’t be able to park anywhere at all – how is a private driveway different to a private airport carpark? Or a hotel car park? Can I not park at a friend’s house and then go on a night hike with them?

          • TGLoyalty says:

Most reasonable insurers wouldn’t exclude it as long as it wasn’t a permanent parking spot.

A few nights isn’t going to matter

  • Andrew. says:

I really miss the NCP “Flightpath” car park.

If you look on streetview from an adjacent street, it seems full. But NCP no longer list it. Is it now Radisson/Red parking or has someone else got it?

  • Russell Gowers says:

Annoyingly I just booked Heathrow Parking two days ago!

  • Lee says:

Has anyone had any luck getting Amex customer services to add an offer to their card? I have none from Marriott this time and I’m feeling cheesed off!

    • TGLoyalty says:

No point being cheesed off you haven’t been targetted yet. Keep checking. People reporting in the forum they’ve had hotel offers pop up today on Gold/BAPP

If it’s the Bonvoy card then that hasn’t had the offer anyway.

  • Lady London says:

    A bit Poirot those interiors.
