Get 1,000 Lufthansa Miles & More miles on every Hyatt stay

Hyatt has launched another of its occasional airline partner offers.

We’ve seen these with American Airlines and Etihad in recent years and now it is the turn of Lufthansa Miles & More.

World of Hyatt will give you 1,000 Miles & More miles for every Hyatt stay you complete between 15th September and 31st October.

1,000 Lufthansa Miles & More miles on every Hyatt stay

IMPORTANT: This is ON TOP of the World of Hyatt points that you would usually earn. You are not giving anything up, and will earn 1,000 Miles & More miles in return.

Now, it’s fair to say that you will struggle to get any value out of a small number of Miles & More miles. There is also a hard expiry (ie the miles expire irrespective of your later activity) of three years unless you have Miles & More status. That said, these are totally free miles so you might as well sign up.

You must register for the offer here.

The offer is valid on cash or reward stays.

All Hyatt properties in Europe, Africa and the Middle East are taking part, including Mr & Mrs Smith properties booked via Hyatt. Existing bookings count.

If you currently earn Miles & More miles at Hyatt instead of taking World of Hyatt points, you can also take part. You will receive the usual 500 Miles & More miles per stay, in lieu of points, plus the bonus 1,000 miles on top.

You can register for this Hyatt / Miles & More promotion here.

Note that registration closes on 16th October even though the offer runs to 31st October.

How to earn American Airlines miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Star Alliance miles from UK credit cards (October 2024)

None of the Star Alliance airlines currently have a UK credit card.

There is, however, still a way to earn Star Alliance miles from a UK credit card

The route is via Marriott Bonvoy. Marriott Bonvoy hotel loyalty points convert to over 40 airlines at the rate of 3:1.

The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points is via the official Marriott Bonvoy American Express card. It comes with 20,000 points for signing up and 2 points for every £1 you spend. At 2 Bonvoy points per £1, you are earning (at 3:1) 0.66 airline miles per £1 spent on the card.

There is a preferential conversion rate to United Airlines – which is a Star Alliance member – of 2 : 1 if you convert 60,000 Bonvoy points at once.

The Star Alliance members which are Marriott Bonvoy transfer partners are: Aegean, Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Avianca, Copa Airlines, Singapore Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines and United Airlines.

You can apply here.

With the legal ins and outs of selling (or buying by consumers) M&M points, does anyone know if that case where someone trying to get cheque for €21,000 for their balance of I think it was 715K points (works out around a whopping 3.3 euro cents per point valuation – incredibly high) was successful or not, or it’s still ongoing ?

With them now selling points, we can assume the case went in Lufthansa’s favour

Does Hyatt run similar promos with other airlines?

    • Rob says:

They tend to do one per year with one random airline.

      • Steve says:

The Etihad promotion was definitely this calendar year, as I think your earlier this week Bits mention referenced.

  • Stu N says:

Thanks – got all excited as I have 4 Hyatt stays this month but 3 are before start of promo and the one inside the window is in North America.

Even when I was flying Luffy regularly I struggled to get value from miles so no great loss.

Any sign or rumour about more mileage protection for the previous holders of the M&M card?

    • Rob says:

There are signs of a new card so I suspect protection will continue for a while.

  • Michael says:

Is there an easy way to check for Lufthansa/Swiss redemption availability?

    • Rob says:

Can do when logged in on the M&M site, doesn’t require you to have enough miles.

    • Camille55 says:

Their website has recently got better for searching, especially via an iPhone, as you can see availability per cabin for the month.

Not that this has helped to secure 4 x seats in Biz to….well, anywhere.

Rob – any idea if there is a specific reason why their redemption availability dropped so drastically? As you say, 4 or more seats were never an issue pre-Covid and their old website had a helpful matrix of reward space across all cabins. Used to be great for UK school holidays.

I have around 400k M&M miles that I am really struggling to use.

      • Rob says:

No idea – especially when cash tickets are being sold so cheaply in their sales. I have about 200k to use and am likely to end up doing a LH First trip somewhere.

        • Camille55 says:

Thanks. I was hoping to use with family. Taking Tokyo as an example, there is literally nothing from Sept to Nov, from either the UK or ex-Europe, even for a solo pax.
