The Hilton Woking hotel is open

Whilst not a destination to set your heart fluttering, new build Hilton properties are rare these days so we should welcome Hilton Woking.

The 189-room hotel has just opened in the newly developed Victoria Square.

It apparently has Surrey’s largest hotel ballroom and ‘panoramic views’. More prosaically, it is walkable to Woking Superbowl, the New Victoria Theatre Woking and the railway station.

Hilton Woking hotel OXBO

It is a well appointed hotel, including an Executive Lounge on the 22nd floor (not open yet – you need to wait until Q1 2025) and a Technogym-equipped fitness centre.

Food and beverage includes the LOFT Sky Bar on the 22nd floor with a Pan-Asian menu.

The OXBO restaurant on the 21st floor (image below) features farm-to-fork British cuisine such as Steak and Blue Cheese Flatbread, OXBO Burger with Brown Ale Rarebit and Spicy Cauliflower Fritters. There is also the GLOW Lounge coffee bar.

The hotel website is here if you want to find out more.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (December 2024)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

That really beats the Brighton I 360. They have defaulted on their loans with Brighton council repeatedly. Oh wow a view of the sea. In a ten minute “flight” up a giant pole. And a view of the downs. Which you couldn’t possibly get from either the beach or the downs themselves. Love a good council decision.

    • TGLoyalty says:

I think a hotel drives greater public benefit and commercial value than a view point. And looking at the hotels Brighton has I think they would’ve been far better off with a nice hotel to provide competition to the the likes of metropole which was far beyond needing a refurb before it actually happened.

“With IHG, Hilton etc, a sale rate advertised as ‘25% off the flexible rate’ isn’t a genuine 25% discount”

I’ve always wondered how they’ve got away with this for so long. You’d think Trading Standards and the ASA would be all over this.

    • chrishors says:

Exactly! Surely someone knows how they do get away with it.
It is mis-selling, in my opinion.

Just to mention that I’ve just had some good rates with Accor for upcoming bookings – one in Paris in a month’s time (good rates with 10% off at the 25 Hours Terminus Nord, albeit the tiny entry rooms), and one in Budapest for the F1 weekend next August (not in the sale window above but there is also a 10% discount going). Both of these stacked with the 5% member discount I think.

For whatever reason I haven’t stayed much with Accor the past few years so often forget to check them, pleased I did!

Just finished a stay in Hilton Woking. The Executive Lounge will not open until Q1 2025. There is an area in the restaurant where you can get canapés and drinks in lieu of the lounge.
Rooms are very nice- compact but well furnished. I was upgraded to a corner Exec Room.
Still some teething issues that still need to be ironed out e.g – I was told I couldn’t put my dinner onto the room account (chasing the points for that one).
