NEW: Earn Avios with Uber in Ireland

Avios has a partnership with Uber in the UK which allows you to earn 1 Avios per £1 spent on UK rides. It also pays out on train tickets booked via the Uber app.

Whilst this has not been widely promoted, the deal has now been extended to cover Ireland. Anyone with a British Airways Club number in their Uber account will now also earn on Irish rides.

The reason for this is that Aer Lingus has just become an Uber partner too. The Aer Lingus deal is based on rides in both Ireland and the UK, so it makes sense to expand the British Airways offer to cover the UK and Ireland.

If you are based in Ireland then you can add your AerClub number to the Uber app. Follow the instructions in the article linked above.

AerClub members who link their AerClub and Uber accounts via the Uber app and complete a journey by 31st July will receive 500 bonus Avios.

Save 10% on LeShuttle with Accor

On Thursday we covered the launch of the Avios partnership with LeShuttle, the service which transfers cars through the Channel Tunnel.

Hotel programme Accor Live Limitless is offering its members (you can join for free here) a 10% discount on new LeShuttle bookings.

The offer is available for bookings made, and travel completed, by 14th December 2025. Some blackout dates apply.

Flexiplus bookings are excluded. It isn’t clear if you will also earn Avios on these bookings.

Get bonus Accor points with Sixt car rentals

Talking of Accor Live Limitless, it has launched a new promotion with Sixt.

This could be quite valuable. Remember that Accor points are worth 2 Eurocents each towards a hotel stay, or convert at 1:1 into Iberia Avios (ignore the weaker option of 2:1 into BA Avios).

This offer also includes a free additional driver.

You receive:

400 ALL points for a €50 rental
700 ALL points for a €100 rental
1,100 ALL points for a €150 rental

This means you’d get points worth €22 for a €150 rental and get the free additional driver benefit.

The small print is:

Book by 17th June
Return the vehicle by 30th September
Rent from 2 to 27 days
Points offer is valid in all countries
Free additional driver is valid for rentals in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, France, Monaco, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, USA, Canada

As we all have our BA Club linked to Uber, there is surely no point in changing that to Aer Club as that just introduces more faff to try and transfer the avios. Unless of course you do it for the one trip to get 500 extra avios (which will probably get you the “sausage roll at greggs”)…….

    I wouldn’t book ANY train journey with Uber.
    
    It’s entirely operated by Omio (which itself is great), just with Uber’s name on the store front.
    The issue is that should you have any problems whatsoever, you deal with Omio customer service. However, these agents have no access to your Uber account at all – so can’t see basic information, or credit you a refund directly. The entire operation is a sugar show!
    
    I was tempted by an offer to make a train booking with Uber, but never, EVER again! There are msny more attractive options for booking trains, avoid Uber.

      I’ve actually had some very good customer service from Omio. Usually fast responses and they’ve proactively offered advice on the best way to change a ticket.
      
      They also do fee-free changes, where other sellers charge £5 or 10.

      another reason to not user Uber for rail bookings is that it doesn’t work!
      
      try booking Luton Airport to London … now add a Railcard … boom – all the trains disappear!
      
      also, you don’t get to see the different fare types … so on the LTN to London route the difference between an Advance (zero flexibility) and Super Off Peak Single (lots of flex) is usually tiny … but Uber rail doesn’t show that
      
      Best avoid Uber for rail tickets (after you’ve grabbed the opening offer)!

Check your Uber app for additional offers – I’ve got 500 Avios for booking the first train journey via the app. 500 Avios for £1.10 is a decent deal.

I didn’t say anything about actually taking the train booked via the app. I booked the cheapest journey I could find for a quid. Not a chance that I’ll drive 6 hours to take the 5 minute journey, I’m happy banking the 500 Avios though!

Has anyone tried booking LeShuttle and got the 10% discount?
It goes through to checkout with the Accor discount code added but the price is still the same at checkout as it would be without the Accor code.

Just used the 10% discount Accor discount code on Le Shuttle, can confirm the confirmation page does NOT allow me to enter the British Airways Club membership number anywhere on the page.

Why are uber pushing its customers to provide their BA account details? Is this about surging up the prices when they know you’ve got a flight to catch in an hour? A captive market
