I would rather have the aisle of the middle section on the top floor (OO XOO OO):
– Regardless of what you do somebody will seat next to you if the plane is full
– If somebody sits on the other end you may be lucky and nobody will pick the middle seat if not very full (OO XOX OO)
– If a couple sits next to you then they would rather disturb each other when leaving for the restroom etc.
If you sit on the Aisle seat by the window and somebody sits next to you then you are at their mercy if they need to go to the loo and you are sleeping.
In any case, as most people in economy will not pay for their seats and not have silver or gold status you won’t know where they selected to sit until 24hrs before departure (and even then many wait and do it during check-in).
