Is the journey part of a longer trip so you would have to collect bags and get them to LCY? BA is still liable for duty of care plus the cost of getting you to the new airport.

Also, if you want to move to another LHR flight, you can ask for this. It might be possible to make such a change in MMB.

Both LHR and LCY have had reduced traffic today as a result of high winds.

However, BA at LHR are having significant staff shortages around ground handling. But I’m sure a reputable company would never mislead someone as to the cause of a delay
