Somehow given its Eurovision I don’t think they’ll be dwelling too much on what would have been your small contribution via a one nights stay to their bottom line they have now lost!

That’s partly my point ! They could have sold the room for whatever the full price atm is but instead they have to keep it off sale because I can’t move my booking

And my point is your one nights points stay and couple of quid on a drink is chump change to them this week.

And you’re the one hanging onto the room by apparently not cancelling it even though you know you won’t use it this preventing the hotel from putting it on sale!

He’s within rights to do this given they won’t let him change. It’s fine, but then they can’t complain about the fact that OP wishes to keep the room and prevent them from selling it. It works both ways. You can either keep a guest happy or not.

Also this kind of thinking is short-term. This hotel is now on my blacklist as well and probably others who come and see this here.
