I’m a firm believer in public transport being funded out of the public purse and fares being set at affordable levels.
Given that you’re a public transport user, I’m sure you would say that. I doubt the residents of rural Ceredigion, for whom public transport is nothing but a rumour, share your enthusiasm. Perhaps if subsidies for transport in London were paid by Londoners instead of coming out of general taxation, the rest of the UK may be more sympathetic.
