@executiveclubber I was just about to pull the trigger on buying a gift card or two but your comment has reminded me what an absolute drama it was last time I tried to redeem one at Sofitel LHR checkout – not worth the grief I have decided so thanks for that timely intervention! 😎

I have stayed at the Sofitel LHR T5 four times this year. On each occasion I handed in the gift card during check-in. Each time they made a note, handed the gift card to the back desk and the credit was applied to my room bill before I checked out. I made a point of checking my bill at reception before leaving the hotel and I found no issues with the billing.
