Forums Other Destination advice 4 Platinum cards in my name – Can I get 8 people into the Plaza Premium Lounge?

  • 114 posts

Want to visit the LHR T4 Plaza Premium Lounge on Friday morning for a 9:30am flight to AUH for a family holiday (7 adults and one 3 year old child)

I am the supplementary card holder for 4 separate Platinum cards (2 Business, 2 Personal). Reckon this would get all 8 of us into the lounge given they are all in my name?

    Thanks

I’d assume this would get “you and a guest” in 4 times (5 people) rather than 8 people total. Interesting experiment, though.

Agree, it would be 5 people in total – you can’t go in 4 times as yourself, putting on a fake beard, glasses, hats etc.

I could argue both but like alig4th said, its very interesting. As for friday arrive with plenty of time as the strike at this moment is still going ahead. Even though its at T5, staff would be shifted between terminals thus causing mayhem all around.

Apparently staff are resisting being moved from their usual terminals to cover T5 and HAL would be well advised not to push it too far lest that opens up another can of worms.

Also no need to arrive super early as that just blocks the system for others and contests the terminals.

As for the lounge access I’m in the same mind as Andrew.

There’s another active thread today re quite how many people one can get into a Centurion Lounge while of course there’s yet another one re overcrowded lounges…

I have seen someone try to do this at a PP lounge elsewhere and the reception refused it and said only one card allowed per person, so may also depend on the mood of staff.

The concept that the owner of the card can only guest once, however many cards they may have, seems quite logical and would apply similarly for any insurance cover that might come with the various cards. You can only claim once for each insurable event irrespective of the number of policies under which it might be covered.

I’ve called them (surprisingly quick to get through to the lounge – no automated line or anything) and they said it’s absolutely fine!

Will let you all know how it goes! Fingers crossed, as I’m still a bit skeptical.

Off topic, but am eager to know if you had an enjoyable stay at Pilanesberg game park recently.

I hope it works. Partly for you, and partly to see some of the reactions from some commentators on here.

I’d say there’s a fighting chance the staff didn’t understand what was being asked, so just said yes to let them get on with their day. I can imagine AMEX having a problem with this.

And +1, any feedback on Pilanesberg would be useful as am off there in a month…

They let all 8 of us in, no issues! Lounge was good although felt the food options could be better
