I’ve booked 5 nights in Bucharest during the first week in December as a TP trip with BA holidays, which includes a car. We are hoping to take advantage of the new Marriott offer and tour around those hotels and use some of the SNA. Has anybody any suggestions or info on Bucharest please as we have never been there before. TIA
We found Alina (http://www.wheninbucharest.com/) a brilliant guide whilst in Bucharest. She can also arrange tickets for the Palace of the Parliament, which is quite a faff otherwise. The Ceausescu residence is also fascinating.
The Therme spa is not to be missed – imagine it’ll be particularly cool in winter.
We ate at Noeme and Kane restaurants – both excellent.
Bucharest is quite ugly in my opinion, you will be done in 1-2 days. In December it is cold in Romania but you may want to try and drive outside of town and visit Brasov, the castle of Sinaia, Sibiu. Driving in Romania is easy but expect not to go more than 60-90km/h so 100km take 100 min to drive.
