Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club 5am redemption call – telephone number?

    Hi All.

It looks like the main UK number 0344 209 2722 is 24 hours. Is that the best number to use for a 5am redemption booking?

In case anyone else is looking to check, the answer is yes – that number works fine for a 5am booking.

As an extension of this query – I am at present a gold member which will drop to Silver in April. As a Gold member I was given an alternate number to ring for redemption bookings. Does anyone know if that dedicated number can be used after dropping to Silver or do you “get found out”?

They will pull your FC account up at the start of the call. It’s then very much agent dependent. I have (as a long-time Gold) called the number to help upgrade existing Reds/Silvers.

I used the main UK number 0344 209 2722 at 5am recently, waited 25 mins to book Upper Class outgoing and then 3 weeks later at the same time to book the return.

When I called on the 14th at about a minute before 5am it was answered very quickly.

Is it still 5am when the clocks go forward?
Or does it become 6am in BST

It’s based on midnight release in the Delta system so any change depends on the relative difference between UK time and the US time zone (Eastern) that Delta adheres to. This year Eastern Standard Time (EST) changes to Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) – +1 hour – on Sunday, March 10th. GMT doesn’t change to BST until March 30th and in those few weeks UK is only 4 hours ahead, so that implies a 4 a.m. call to nab seats! It then goes back to 5 once BST kicks in.

If booking an outgoing premium flight is there a need to call at 5am or is it overkill? Looking at the destination I want to go to on the reward seat checker for flights released over the last few weeks they still aren’t to have premium seats…
