Hi
Newbie question.
I fly regularly to Seville from Gatwick with BA. That is 40pts as usual. If I were to fly via Madrid (always a booking option using Iberia flights), does anyone know if this then results in 2 x 40 points (LGW-MAD, MAD-SVQ)?
I find myself needing 220pts for Gold with a month left! Trying to figure out a simple and cheap way to do this!
Iberia flights within Spain only earn a maximum of 20 tier points each way.
So you would get 60 on a one-way via Madrid, 120 return.
You could do a BA Holiday in CE with 5 nights’ hotel or car hire, with an extra UK domestic leg thrown in for 240 TPs.

A bit of a roundabout route, but you could do BA LGW to Marrakech (RAK) then RAK-CMN-SVQ on Royal Air Maroc. That would be 120 TP each way, I believe.
And since you would only need 100 TP on the return leg to get to 220 you could do something easier like SVQ-MAD-OPO on Iberia then home on BA.
Another option – Iberia has a direct return flight every Tuesday between Seville and Madeira, which is a BA 160 TP destination, so you could do London-Madeira-Seville, returning a week later, for 240 TPs.
