-
I‘m not sure if this has been posted yet (apologies if it has) but I just got an email reminding me to renew ambassador and noticed a comment that the fee will be going up on the 2nd of October.
The email doesn’t say what the new price will be. I suppose if you plan to renew it may be worth doing before then!
Just a point on AMB renewal, I am looking to stay at O2 end of Sept and my AMB expires 1 October.
I’ve heard people say that you can get a deal if you ask to renew AT the IC itself? How do you go about that, just ask at checkin? What can you expect as a bonus?TIA
You don’t get a deal on the cost of the membership. Instead you ‘may’ get upgrades or late checkout etc if you tell them you’d like to buy the membership at the hotel.
Another option is to use the IHG cashback offers on Amex cards, if available, and pay at hotel along with room bill.As mentioned in other posts there really isn’y any point in renewing, just sign back up just before you need to use it again.
Yeah, I don’t intend to since the Diamond loophole was closed (though I was somewhat tempted to give it a go… just in case I get lucky?)
I’ve cleared my points balance with a 4 night reward stay at the Hotel Indigo in Shibuya, Tokyo where I should get my final set of Diamond breakfasts.

There is 15,000 points in renewing, which you won’t get by “signing back up”.
This thread has triggered a look at the previous IC in Cannes for a Jan 2025 stay now Regent Cannes. As a Diamond member and with Lounge access would a points stay offer any benefits/upgrades? Any recent experience staying here as a Regent – 72000 points /£276 was given as a search. Is this good value? (I assume I would get Breakfast as a Diamond.) I would value colleagues experiences and thoughts.
Most would’ve noticed it already – the new price is just £5 more than last year due to the better exchange rate.
Wondering if it’s a good idea to lock in the renewal now.

Dont bother. I extended it yesterday as it was worthwhile for the next few months, but diamond didnt get extended, so this will be the last year of amb.
