AMEX call center – 3 days for a call back?

I’m new to AMEX used to collect AVIOS a decade ago but lost interest for various reasons. Am going to start with a bit of churning for SUBs.
Does anyone know if it’s normal when you ring the overseas call center and ask them to put you through to UK call center, that they say they will refer your call and to expect a call back in the next 3 Days ? Seems a long time to wait for a call back.
