Amex ‘pay via points’ now in app

Not sure if this is new, I’ve never seen it before, but you can now pay Amex transactions in the app instead of going into the web site.

I know it’s not the best rate to exchange, but the options there, and now it can be done in the app.

I received an email today stating that if I chose to ‘Cover it with Points’, for a limited time I would receive 50% more value. I don’t know if this is targeted, or whether or not people received differing offers.

I too have noticed this. However, this boost only seems to affect purchases on my Gold Rewards Card and not my Platinum card.
