AMEX Platinum 100,000 points welcome offer (back at the end of 2023):
I signed up for this and now it is month 15 and I’m expecting the 2nd lot of points but AMEX tell me they’ve never split welcome bonus into two.
Anyone else in this situation?
I’m not sure what to do next, I don’t have any paperwork from AMEX.
Thanks in advance for any info.
Background
The bonus is paid in two parts:
– 75,000 Membership Rewards points if you spend £10,000 within six months
– a further 25,000 Membership Rewards points if you retain your card for 15 months and make a single purchase in month 15

The Amex call centre is useless so ignore that. You didn’t call over the weekend did you? This is a recipe for disaster as you are virtually guaranteed the offshore call centre.
The definition of Month 15 is probably complex. Once your 15th statement month is over (ie statement issued) then go back to them, calling during UK office hours. If you get an idiot in the call centre then ask for a supervisor.
These offers have been running for a couple of years ago so there’s no excuse.
Who have you spoken to at Amex?
*Sorry, just seen Rob beat me to this!
For information, i signed up to Platinum around December 23 and the 25k bonus points have just posted in the last couple of days. Hope this helps!
Funnily enough I had a very similar issue last week , I took the card out in December 2023
Went onto the chat to ask when exactly Month 15 was since I took the card out to trigger the 25k bonus points
The person on the chat was adamant there was no such offer ever , multiple times , I even sent him a screenshot of the offer from a page I found on Amex website and despite the values of the spend targets being in £’s , he said this was an offer for US Customers
Eventually he spoke to someone else who confirmed the offer was there in December 2023
I was tempted to show him the HFP article from then as well
One £1 purchase in sainsbury the next day triggered the bonus immediately
In hindsight I should of just asked for the date I took out the card and worked out what was Month 15 myself
I upgraded from Gold to Platinum on 18th Nov 2023. Card fee posted on 26th Nov. The extra 25k posted on 11th Feb 2025.

Thanks all, that’s helpful.
I spoke to Amex via the live chat and it was at the weekend, so I’ll try again during the week.
Jackp27 – can I ask please – did you need to prompt Amex at all or did the points just turn up?

Thanks Candor.
Do you have the AMEX offer page still? It would be useful to use that too and I don’t have it. Thank you.
I am in a similar situation. Card taken out towards the end of Dec ’23 so this month will be the 15th month/statement since then. I was overseas for the start of the month, and only used the card once (to trigger the oversea dining credit), I am back now and used the card yesterday, but that transaction is still pending. Currently the bonus points haven’t posted. I am not sure if the credited overseas spend will count, so will wait and see what happens when the pending transaction clears.
In the past I have found the Amex call centre to not have full records of enhanced SUB offers, but the bonus to post without any issues.
Let me know if your bonus points appear.

Hi aq.1988,
Did the bonus points arrive on their own or did you need to prompt Amex at all please? Thanks.

Thanks Rob.
My 15th statement will be due early April so everything might be okay.
I’ll wait and see and contact them again if need be.
Thanks & I’ll post an update for everyone here.
Mine actually dropped the other day, I knew they were due sometime around now, but it was after first transaction in month 15 and, on looking back, it was immediately after I made a transaction this billing cycle that the 25k posted. Good luck anyway, just a data point.
Edit to add, mine was the Gold to Platinum upgrade, but it wouldn’t let me select the Gold I had at the time, so was actually an ARCC to Plat upgrade, knew it was fine when the 75k dropped a year ago so doubt that makes much difference, but thought I’d add it.
