Amex referral for a different card

Hi All! I want to use the enhanced referral bonus offer on my Plat (18k points). However the person I am referring wants to get a BA Amex card and not Plat. I know that will mean they receive the 31k pts bonus of BA Amex, but will that impact what I get? Or will I get 18k points regardless of which card the other person chooses?

No, you’ll receive the same regardless of what they choose.

It doesn’t matter what card they pick. I manage to get the referral bonus from my Platinum card even though the referred person got the Gold card.
