Hi,
New to Barclaycard and all I’ve encountered so far are issues.
My card has been activated for just over a week and I’ve spent around £600 on it so far at various places. My spend tracker is still showing 0 and Avios pending and collected are both still showing 0. I’ve contacted Barclaycard and they’ve said that these don’t start tracking until my 1st statement has been issued.
Can anyone let me know if this has been their experience please? Or did your tracker work as soon as you started spending on the card? I am after some reassurance that my Avios points are tracking in the background somewhere but are just not being shown on the app at the moment and will eventually update fine?
I’ve been a member of the BAEC for a while and have almost 600,000 miles generated from Amex so no issues with my account there.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
I have some good news for you and some bad news for you.
The good news is that your Creditcard spend will be credited a couple of days after your statement due date to your avios account, however they will never show up in the My Avios. I have mine linked to my Exec account and it shows my total Avios, but all that shows up are my joining bonus and the monthly points I get from also having the premier account. So I have to check my earnings in the BA app.
I have also never seen a statement for my barclaycard, I can’t get them to display in the app for some reason.
In short it’ll be fine, spend away, but sadly Barclays systems are pretty rubbish.

On mine I can see the Avios earned through the credit card under “see your activity”.
@Vikingvicki what you report is fairly specific to you unfortunately. While there are a fair number of people who rubbish Barclaycard/Barclays and their apps, they have between a quarter and a third of the credit card market in this the UK and for 99% of people it works fine. They have some quite specific Barclays issues like profile clashes sometimes if you have more than one product, but by and large it all works. It’s also apparent from some of the most aggressive complaints that they are user issues rather than bank issues. Most people are getting monthly statements, can see the Avios per transaction and meter towards rewards targets etc.

Have to agree with this tbh… opened account in April, spent the required 3k in first two weeks, paid 2 months fee, got the 50k Avios. All worked fine either spending online or in store, app all ok etc. Don’t dispute that some have had issues but I think for the majority it works fine
I’m having the same problem as the OP. Had the card for 1 month so just received my first statement. Spent £1800, still says 0 avios earned and spent £0 towards the £3000 target.
It does display the total avios in my BA account though so the card is linked. Hoping it’s all working smoothly in the background.
