Whilst the app has had many inconsistencies/features, one thing I’ve always been able to do is download the boarding passes for everyone on the booking.
Recently checking in for a flight and I can only download my own. I get a bizarre option to download as a PDF which doesn’t do anything, but can’t for the life of me find an option for downloading the passes for others, even though I’ve checked everyone in.
Anyone else seen this and been able to workaround this?
I noticed this on a recent trip. Fortunately it was only me and my OH so we just downloaded our own BP’s on our phones, I don’t know if it’s a temporary glitch or what!
Had this today.
Downloaded them on my PC in the end as the app did as you outlined.
Even printed them off – old school….They printed ours anyway when we checked in our bags, though that’s obviously no help if you’re HBO!
Yes we HBO and have no interest in queuing up in Malaga tomorrow just to get a boarding pass..
Talking of Malaga we have a yellow alert for high temperatures tomorrow with 40° on the cards. All airports in Spain will have the air-conditioning turned down (up) to save energy – it’s gonna be bleeding boiling in the airports this weekend.
Oh dear, just as the school holidays get underway! There’ll be some sad (and hot) faces in the tabloids 🥵 😡
Had a weird issue with this and going through security at LHR a week ago. We were in an exit row and had to get someone to “fix” it and issue boarding passes. Often the app doesn’t let you download, and then does a few mins later.
Miracle of miracles – just checked in via the App, and all 4 boarding passes downloaded to my apple wallet with just one click. Has there been an update !?
I am also finding the format in which the BPs now download onto Apple devices appears to have changed – they don’t seem to appear on your locked screen anymore and don’t then expire themselves onces you’ve flown.
Just me?

The BP’s do appear on my locked screen, for an annoyingly long time, and they stay in my wallet until I go in and manually remove.

Yes. They do look different. I used to have the toggle option to “show on locked screen”. Now its not there at all. That works for me. Used to annoy me popping up constantly

I did find that useful given how often you have to bring up the BP at the airport. The other side of the BP in the wallet, so to speak, also used to include a lot of info like check-in cut off, etc. That also seems to have disappeared now.

Yes it’s annoying the fact they dont expire like they used to. Not sure if its something Apple changed in an update or just a BA IT issue but hopefully they can fix it. Its only a minor issue but fixing it makes people happier
They still seem expire on android, so it’s apple related (unless I’m missing an update). Whether it’s the apple wallet or the iOS BA app, no idea!
I think it must be the BA app, a couple other airlines I travelled on recently all self deleted afterwards (I’m on Apple).
The new boarding passes use a slightly different date format which can’t be parsed by Apple Wallet, hence Wallet doesn’t know what time to show the pass and thus it doesn’t appear on the lock screen. Essentially a regression introduced by BA’s world-class IT…
I have recently had to have an apply iPhone for work, I have been a long term android user.
I notice that the differences between the functionality, and usability, of the 2 apps are significantly different.
I can download boarding passes on the iPhone every time, I am lucky if I am able to download boarding passes on the android phone 20% of the time. If only travelling with the android phone, I have to resort to going onto the BA mobile website to download the pdf boarding passes…On Android, I had a scenario where I check my GF and I in. and request the passes sent to the app. Mine were there straight away, hers took a couple of days. Luckily enough we had access to website and downloaded as a PDF and I whatsappd it to her…
