Is there any rumours on what the sign up offer will be after 20th February for the premium BA card? It is currently 50k now I’m wondering if that’s expected to go up or down, I can’t apply for at least another week so will miss the current offer

If anyone had any real information on this topic, they would be precluded from telling you. The SUB was 70k Avios last Jan/Feb, 60k in Aug/Sep and 50k now so you can perhaps extrapolate something from that. The 70k was something of a fiasco owing not only to a spat between BA and Amex but also seriously huge numbers of hit and run applicants (this was before the minimum income requirement) plus a lot a people falsely claiming the 70k. I doubt they will repeat that. Maybe 40k to 50k will be more usual.

One thing to bear in mind is that an annual fee increase is probably fairly imminent and the next higher SUB may well be on the basis of a higher fee. The last BAPP fee increase was in Sep 2021, Plat and Gold fees have both increased since then and the £250 fee is clearly much too low both relatively and in absolute terms.

If you can’t apply for another week, and therefore will miss the current offer. I don’t see whether the next offer will be better or worse than the next one impacts you. As you can’t benefit from the current one. Usually, people ask to help them decide if they wait or press on, you seem to have to wait.

It will certainly be worse it is currently above the norm. The pattern is always an uplift, a period of norm then uplift again. So it will most certainly go down to the 20sk region which I think is the norm (happy to be corrected) and at some point in a few months, there will be an uplift.

When you want to apply, the right question to ask is in the daily chat – “Rob should I apply now or wait a few days” and you should get a cryptic-ish message back shortly after on whether to wait.
