Ba have just cancelled our flight home from Ibiza today and move us to LGW instead of LHR.
Are we due the flight cancellation “fee”, regardless in the rerouting is within 3 hours ?
The text also states they will not cover the cost of getting from LGW to LHR, surely this is just wrong!!
Also assume I can claim late checkout fee, extra day car hire and parking
Thanks
For such a short notice cancellation, the entitlement to compensation starts at two hours if no ‘extraordinary circumstances’ apply. BA is obliged to pay for transport between the airports, but maybe only at the price of public transport.
BA will not be on the hook for your late checkout fee as that won’t meet the “necessary, appropriate and reasonable” test; it’s a luxury. BA is also not liable for the extra car hire/parking costs. This is all for insurance.
What cabin are you supposed to fly?
If you want to travel back today the BA411 to LHR departing at 11:55 in economy is still on sale or there are options tomorrow on BA.
BA doesn’t flying directly from IBZ to LGW either. Are you sure you haven’t been put on a Vueling flight via mainland Spain?
