Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA on another round of cancellation and schedule changes

It looks like BA is on its latest round of cancellations and schedule changes. Over the weekend I have had my March BOS flight cancelled and moved to slightly earlier. This is fine but there’s no facility currently showing to accept the flight – though I don’t want to do this until I can confirm that it’s still in F and which seat I’ve now been allocated, as I’ve also been notified of a seat change, but can’t see it in MMB!
Secondly my GCM-LHR in July has been moved forward one day. Again I can live with this but my LHR-MAN connection has not been changed and is now showing as leaving before the other flights lands! Also, again I’ve been notified that my seat (in this case expensive exit row) has been changed but not what to and I can’t see it in MMB.
Obviously I’ve got a few months yet (though I’ll be really annoyed if I’ve lost my seats), which is good as it sounds as horrendous as ever trying to get through to BA!
    Anyone else had similar recently?

BA doing this all the time. I’ve had a number of flights where the long-haul sectors have been moved / changed to earlier or later dates, but my return Jersey sectors have me leaving before I’ve arrived back in LHR on the long-haul sector. I’ve asked BA to confirm why when a flight on a multi-sector booking is changed they can’t amend the other flights to “align” the answer I get is “the computer can’t do that!” – Re seats, that just seems to be a free for all!

Yes, it’s happened before but I’ve never not been able to subsequently see the full booking in my account afterwards, which is the situation at the moment.
HOWEVER (and this may be helpful to anyone in the same position), I used the option to change my BOS flight, which was the only one showing in the booking, and moved my MAN-LHR connection to a slightly earlier departure (so more time in CCL!). When I did that the whole booking reappeared in my BAEC account and I was able to see that we’d been reassigned the middle pair of seats – which I’ve changed now as we prefer windows!

    Hi,

So on Monday we got an email saying our flight from LHR to SJC was cancelled and here is our alternative offer. Which could be worse, SFO. We wanted to see what other options were open to us via manage our booking but the only option you can do yourself is change date which is no help to a route that is delayed months. The SFO flight is roughly the same time. The issue is due to car hire shortages in the US and the most expensive rates I have seen over 16 years, we can’t shift the car hire for the new flight as it more than doubles. There is a train option to get back on track or taxi of course. BA state if you agree to the new flight you will not be able to claim any expenses to get to your original destination. I can’t get through to the Exec club, multiple calls and they just cut me off. I rang the number on the email, but he is revenue tickets only. He did manage to give me live seat info as I would take the hit on the taxi to get BA285’s Club Suite on the AM flightm but only 1 seat left. I am not sure who got priority on that flight, it was downgraded from an A380 and maybe that was busy. They said you can’t change your flight for free more than 300 miles from the 1st airport? Is that true? Also, are they not required to help us reasonably get to our original arrival point? How long do I have to accept this second flight offer? The person on the revenue line didn’t know. Also, any tricks of how to get hold of the Exec line? I was on at 7.59am and pressed the options bang on 8am. Still didn’t help.
