Hi, I am hoping someone can advise me on my awkward situation please.
I booked a flight from OSLO 16:55 to LONDON HEATHROW 18:15 , 06 Jul 2022, BA 0767 and received an email from BA that it’s been cancelled.
The link from email didn’t lead me to anything useful:
“We are sorry that a flight in your booking has been cancelled, pleasecall usif you wish to make any changes.”I rang BA customer service and they refer me to the travel agent – MyTrip as I made the booking via them.
I emailed MyTrip and they suggest to an earlier flight which I couldn’t make it.
I rang the customer service and ask if I can rebook the next available flight and was followed up with the filleting email, asking me to pay £30 fee upfront before they help.

———————Given that the assistance fee is as much as what I paid for the cancelled flight, I am not sure if it is worthy. First it doesn’t guarantee me a satisfying solution, and I will need to pay for the difference in price if I can rebook to the next flight. I wonder if I should just bite the bullet, waste that ticket, and buy a new ticket instead?
You are entitled to a replacement flight at no extra cost, because of the cancellation by BA. See the various threads on here explaining EC/UK261 regulations on this. It’s slightly complicated as you have booked via a 3rd party travel agent (generally not recommended on here) so you are dependent on them to re-arrange the trip and possibly also bound by any fees they impose in the Ts and Cs of your booking (which you might want to check before agreeing to anything). If a new flight is going to be much more expensive than you paid originally you might want to go with the re-routing option and pay the £30 if that’s what you agreed to at the time of booking.
