Drat, made a rookie error. I have both UK and Irish passport and have the UK details on my BA account but on my last trip I handed over my Irish one by mistake. So my double points have not credited and think that maybe why. Can I get in touch with them to confirm my live and pay taxes in the UK and my usual passport details?
I really don’t think the reason they haven’t posted.
More important would be when did you return from the trip? Have the normal TPs posted yet? Were there any changes made to the flights in the booking and is so when?
Returned 27th December, avios and tps posted 2 days outward and 3 days inward, no changes to flights, bonus avios on 5th day (1st Jan).
Bonus TPs don’t post until 14 days (min) after the return flight.
Bonus TPs posted as you said, didn’t think that they would
Here’s a poser for you. If a holiday is booked in Economy, and I upgrade one or more flights, what happens with the Tier point allocation?
Thanks!!
mef
Tier points are awarded for the class flown as long as you upgrade with cash not avios

So do you think that short haul Club Europe would get 2×40=80 one way?

Depends on route and ticket class. Rob’s table is here https://www.headforpoints.com/2023/01/20/how-many-tier-points-british-airways-flights-earn/ but yes if you upgrade the ticket to CE you’ll get 2x whatever the appropriate CE allocation is
I am planning a fly +car trip to US in club world with car hire for the duration of the trip (7days). Using BA holidays as well as custom trip option, the return flights always show the first domestic leg in economy with a note showing that the flight doesn’t have business (incorrect as i can see business on the flight via google or matrix).
If I do search via flights only, it gives me all legs in business (and in fact, I am able to select one leg in first class at the end for slight uptick in the price) and add a car from the option above.
My question is if the approach two qualifies for the double tier point promotion? I can see the approach two doesn’t give me ‘book by deposit’ option. I am happy to pay full upfront for the comfort and double tier points but not sure if the latter approach gets disqualified under T&C of the double point promotion.
Kindly advise.
@Bigsur Using the custom trip option does qualify for double TPs, but double check any AA flights are showing a BA code share flight number.
What happens if you select return and First?
We had a holiday booking for a trip in Jan to MCO. We got changed onto a later flight from MIA to MCO the BA4987 / AA 2909. I emailed executive club regarding the missing points but I only had the AA flight number and they have only credit 5 points. I have since provided the BA flight number and its an economy B ticket which according to the points calculator I should receive 20 tier points. Do you think they will change it or is it at their discretion? I have also requested the double points as we have received those for the other flights in the booking
@Jockey30 the booking needs to have had BA flight numbers for double TPs.
@Richie thanks, yes the booking did have BA flight numbers I have emailed executive club. The points calculator stated we should have had 20 points for that leg and we only got 5, hopefully they will fix it
I’ve booked a BA holiday from Jersey to Toronto. I’ve just seen this term used in the ba conditions page. What does it mean.
The rules now say “Bookings can only contain one flight departing the UK, multiple journeys from the UK within one booking will not qualify.”
Thanks for anyone who can help.
It means you can’t have a trip that’s something like like LHR-AMS-LHR-YYZ-LHR-AMS-LHR as that has three EX UK flights.
If your’re asking does something like what I’ve imagined youve booked JER-LHR-YYZ-LHR-JER qualify then yes as for BA puropses they regard JER as being part of the UK
You’ll be fine @AdamM
JER-LHR-YYZ is departing the UK once
If your booking was JER-LHR-OTP-LHR-YYZ-LHR-JER for example, this would fall foul of the rule, as it contains two UK departures (LHR-OTP and LHR-YYZ).
When trying to book a return flight to New York with a car – I don’t see the double tier points offer shown at any point p to the payment page. flights are AA operated but both have a BA flight number. its 16 th out and 21st back in a specific month and with car – what am I missing? However the return on the 21st is a daytime flight so does that mean it doesn’t meet the 5 days?
Last year we did LHR -JER-LHR – ATH – LHR do we think that this would work with the new rule?
If not I guess we could have a separate booking LHR-JER ? Then the rest as a BA holiday?
Should be eligible as you are only leaving the UK once, assuming all the other Ts+Cs are met

As long as you meet the requiremnets of having the car for 5 nights (i.e. cross 5 midnights) then the trip will qualify.
The double TO offer doesn’t always show but what matters is meeting rhe 5 nights requirement.
Probbaly easiest to work out is when do you return the car.
Anyone got suggestions for where to chase missing points? Am 15 days after returning and terms say they will post withink 14 days. Tried phoning but keep getting cut off as the automated bot thinks it has answered my question or they are taking too many calls to answer. Tried emailing britishairwaysexecutiveclub@ba.com but their mailbox is too full so got bounced back!
Give it a couple more days.
It’s not a perfect system especially if there have been any changes to the booking.
Trying to book flight + car for Greece in May. The flights it’s defaulting to on the booking aren’t the ones I want. Any idea how to change this other than going through the main (non-holiday) web page and not having the deposit option?
mefOK, I’ve answered my own question. When you add the car after picking flights it flags the double Tier points.
mefBeing awarded the double TPs is not dependent on having the offer flagged in red.
What’s more important is that the holiday meets the requirement on now many nights the car has been booked for.
Also deposits aren’t available on every holiday. If you’re booking close to departure (I think 4 weeks for short and 7 for long) then the deposit option isn’t available. Also (and somewhat puzzling) Swiitzerland trips don’t seem to offer the deposit option.
