I booked Dublin to Cancun as reward flights with a 2-4-1 voucher. Dublin-Gatwick legs were with Aer Lingus and Gatwick-Cancun BA in Club World. However, when I tried to access the BA lounge in Gatwick while waiting for my return Aer Lingus flight to Dublin, I was denied access to the lounge and informed that I could only access the lounge if this connecting flight to Dublin was with BA. Does this sound right? I can’t see anything in the one world terms to this effect. In any case, it seems a pretty unreasonable exclusion.
EI isn’t a member of One World so the usual OW rules don’t apply.
