Hi all
I recently got bumped up from BA bronze to silver thanks to the reduced TP threshold and have gone through to MMB for my summer trips to BCN and MCO to take advantage of free seat selection, but BA is still trying to charge me for the seats. At the bottom of the page it says ‘or select seats for free from 7 days before your flight’ (i.e., the system still seems to think I’m bronze).
Is this something which will just trickle through / BA’s slow IT system, or is it something I should get in touch with them about? Just wondering if it’s a known issue that things take a while to update when you move up a tier…

I would give it a week or two – getting in touch with them will likely result in a lot of unhappiness and no resolution…
This is being asked a fair few times lately!
But how recent is “recently”?
It takes a couple of days after the TPs have posted that take you over the threshold for the new status to appear and be usable. You may also have to do a force refresh of the app and / or log off and back on again
It’s not an IT ‘issue’ it’s how the system has wprked for years.
