Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Bag check with long connection

I am pretty sure the answer is yes,but wanted to confirm as I usually don’t want to check a bag on connecting flights.

Flying Manchester to London in the evening, will BA store checked bags even if the connection is the following afternoon. My memory is that as long as connection is under 24 hours from landing at LHR to taking off they will, providing same ticket obviously.

Same PNR, yes they will check bags through.

Recently, BA to BA flights on separate tickets sometimes allows through-checking, including check-in agents proactively offering it.

Apparently the separate ticket may show up automatically on the check-in computer system, in which case through-checking will be permitted despite BA’s official policy saying no. It is unclear what causes this to happen or not happen, so you still can’t rely on it.

Last time I was travelling on separate PNRs, the first words uttered by the check in agent after greeting us was that she couldn’t check the bags through! She’d clearly seen that we were booked on a long-haul flight the next day (long story short, I was expecting this and it didn’t matter). This was over a year ago, though, and it may also depend on the agent. OP is on one booking though, so shouldn’t have any issues.
