My wife and i are at an event in London on Sunday 22 December, and will stay in London the previous night (Marriott – either JW Grosvenor House or St Pancras Renaissance). I thought we might visit a Christmas Market the previous day. Looking on-line there seem to be several decent choices. But I wonder if anyone has any special recommendations? TIA

I think the best Christmas market in London is in Bath.

Our Christmas Markets in London are called Harrods snd Fortnum’s.

But they have passed their peak by second week of December.

If you can actually get in Fortnum’s…

I’m also not a fan of most of the big London Christmas markets however some of the other markets can be nice if very busy King’s Cross area goes big on Christmas and is worth a look https://www.kingscross.co.uk/christmas also areas like Spitalfields may be worth a look.

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market! It is less than 90min away by train, so I would consider it inner London.

Agree with the above, but in an attempt to help – I haven’t been for a few years, but the Christmas market in Kingston was the only one in London I ever felt was even vaguely close to an actual German Christmas market (though I’m sure I’ll be shot down for saying so!) There’s a small German expat community in Kingston so that probably helps. It’s 28 minutes on the train from Waterloo, Zone 6.
