Can BA reward flights be cancelled without cost / loss of Avios ?

Super obvious question here that has been answered many times I’m sure … if I book a BA reward flight and later want to cancel it … will I get all my Avios and any cash amount back? Thanks.

Ah – thanks. “The cost is £35 per person OR the taxes and charges paid, whichever is lowest.” … this is the key bit.

For some reason I had in my head (incorrectly remembering prior experience no doubt), that there was no cost at all. With a £35 fee (or less perhaps depending on what kind of Avios/cash mix one chooses) it’s still not bad in case plans change … but not quite the free option that I was thinking.

No cost if you cancel within 24h of booking. That’s what’s probably ringing bells for you.

I cancelled a Club Europe flight on-line today and it cost £25 per person, but I think that was all I had paid in the first place (max AVIOS min cash), so £35 would be standard. More importantly for me the return of AVIOS was virtually instantaneous, as I was looking to book something else.
