Anyone from UK apply for Amex Hilton Aspire card or anything similar?
Was considering getting one (if possible) and get a free night certificate.
If you have a social security number or ITIN and an address in the US (one of those PO Boxes with forwarding services works), yes you should be able to.
Can’t remember if a US bank account is strictly required or not.you need a social security number and a credit score as well as an address. you also pay by a bank account — sort of a direct debit.
ideally you can use a friend’s address. but if you have no history in the US banking system, I’d say it’d be impossible. All you need is an address. SSN or ITIN are unnecessary when you use Amex Global Transfer to apply for the card.
You just need an address in the US to apply with and receive the card to, but you don’t need to do the global transfer either. You can use your UK credit history when applying – tick the box under where you would put SSN then you give authorisation for Novacredit to access your UK history and get approved instantly.

It’s a long shot but just in case anyone has come across it – anyone managed to do this with Japanese AMEX cards? Have family in Japan so would have an address to put down. Thanks

can you in theory use a friend or familys address and get them to ship it over back to you by mail?
Residency is officially a requirement. So is the credit score. Try and see 🙂
Then you’ll see paying it back will be an even bigger problem in the archaic US banking system.Applied with my relatives address .Declined.
Let’s not confuse necessary conditions with the sufficient ones :))
Yes.
but not have us residency, still residing in the uk?
I have applied on the condition that I would be moving to USA soon. No credit check done but declined . I am going to call Amex to see if they can move one card to the USA address temporarily. I have no problems with addresses or repayment as some friend or relative can do the repayment.
Are there any other cards apart from Amex who do it ?I have applied for a HSBC premier current account , they can open a USD bank account with UK address and not with a USA address. I need a card linked to USA address, else as always I depend on friend’s card for shopping.
It’s possible. They can even use your UK (or Canadian/Australian) credit files to assess the application. Finding a forwarding service which will forward the credit card could be a pita, but it is def possible.

But everyone is getting decline, how is it possible without a SSN

forwarding service is tricky, you need to show address for credit score purposes as well. sometimes they say no pobox as well.

because you cannot pass the credit check.
I tried so many times for “friends and family” not resident in the US. no credit score, no ssn — makes it tough.
those were the days when people got cards for their puppies..i lived in the US, and have an ssn, have a friend/relative address, and good score in the past, and I got declined. because they see the lack of financial activity in the past few years. I must use revolut or something to get a US account and show some movement..
