Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Cannot see two 241 companion vouchers

  • 15 posts

    Hello,

My husband and I both have a respective companion vouchers on our accounts and we are linked via the household account

I would like to use both of our vouchers for our booking of 2 adults, 2 children, but cannot see two vouchers to use up. Is there something I need to do so we can make one single booking?

Also, if I had to make a booking for the return leg separately to the outward leg, does that mean I will need to make separate bookings? who can link them? the BA Exec club phone lines are impossible to reach

Lastly but not least, we just used an avios and money booking (no 241) for our family trip – two of us went taxes only. The statement says this is “ineligble flight”. Does that mean we earnt no avios? I thought this only applied to Tier points, not avios points

    Kind regards,
    Rachel

Hi Rachel unfortunately if you and your husband each have a 2-4-1 voucher in your respective names you cannot use them together in one booking.

Thay concession of using 2 vouchers for 4 people is when a card holder has 2 vouchers in their name.

And reward flights do not earn either Avios or Tier Points. That said last year BA’s IT was occasionally generous and did award some people but it was a mistake and shouldn’t have happened.

You can still try booking the seats at the same time and have two separate booking references.

OK thank you – we are going to have to pick a favourite child 🙂 And if I wanted to book the return leg separate to the outward leg, that would also be two bookings? How would that work out for the 241 voucher?

Can the BA Exec club folks on the phone link all these separate booking references so we identify as “one family” on both outbound and inbound leg?

Yes to booking the return leg if not booked at the same time as the outbound. You would each have to book 2 seats and get BAEC to allocate them to the 2-4-1 vouchers used for the outbound in order to only pay 1 set of Avios plus tfcs for each PNR. Good luck

I am not sure you can link the 2 bookings together unless one of you is Gold and can then do something called To Complete Party. I’ve never held gold status so don’t know how that actually works.

    Thank you very much

I didn’t actually understand how I book two separate legs? When do I phone them? I book the first leg fully in cash then call them to book the other leg?

No. You either book the outbound online using the 2-4-1 or phone BAEC at midnight or 1am depending on the time of year you’re booking flights and say I want to book flight BAxxx on x date using my Amex 2-4-1. Tell them.that you will want to add the return flights when they become available for sale.

Then phone BAEC when the return flights appear for sale adding the return to the existing booking.

Have a read of this thread for more info:
