It’s 5pm in Sydney, just under 12 hours since landing on BA15 and I’m desperately hanging on to try and stay awake until 8pm (with the help of a 2 hour nap this morning)
Old Club World is still very old, managed to get a bit of sleep but my IFE screen and remote were buggy, shameful this old stuff is still flying. Food and service were good.
Qatar lounge at SIN is still a superb secret tip, especially if you’re first off the plane and therefore into the showers
Good morning from the Kimpton Los Monteros. Decided to drop some points whilst in the area to try out the place (it opened in February).
It’s a very nice renovation of the old hotel with a large tennis/paddle court attached. We were upgraded to a suite which has some nice touches including Diptyque products in the bathroom.
Interestingly, the social password doesn’t mean much out here…they explained that they provide all the ‘extras’ in the room regardless (complimentary bottle of wine plus a cake). All other Kimpton amenities are in place however – the wine social hour, free bikes, raid the bar, etc
Good morning from a very busy North lounge wt T5 where I am trying to revive myself with espresso/champagne/cheese/hash browns while waiting for the IB flight to MAD (and from there onwards to LIM tomorrow). FYI @NorthernLass had successful viva on Wednesday 😁
My first long haul in almost 10 years awaits and my first ever proper business class flight – only possible thanks to the marvels of HfP and the forumites for the advice on Avios collection and redemption for LIM. Cheers everyone!

I want to trigger an Marriott spend offer of 75£ but have no plans to do a stay before expiry. Would a spa or restaurant spend at Weston city for example trigger offer ?
@tootsci – Enjoy the Velázquez lounge at MAD, it’s a good space to relax before a flight, don’t forget if you have booked separate positioning flights on IB, you can check your luggage through on the return at MAD.

Good morning from the Hilton Bournemouth. Quite impressed with this hotel on the whole. The beds abit hard for my liking though.
The minute I did chip and pin for the amex, I received an email saying the £75 offer had been triggered. I’ve not seen that before.The weather was dismal yesterday, but I am trying to embrace this mini break Uk Holiday idea.

Some of these facilities are managed by third parties and they have their own payment terminals, so there’s a high risk it wouldn’t trigger the offer.
Just got an email from BA welcoming me to the new BA Club (launched 1st april) and telling me I can get points with flights, holidays, luggage and fuel. Amex is out it seems … this time for good. (which makes me wonder if I need the Amex card at all given the high cost and the fact I can get 2 vouchers with Barclays card and account)
@yonasl I just received the same email. As you say no mention of Amex or earning TP from the BAPP.

I was there last weekend having not been there for a few years. I thought they had got rid of the exec lounge, turns out they still have one on the first floor open Mon-Thurs but still accessible at weekends for a drink/snack.
Not as good as when it first opened but still a decent hotel.

Yes, one of our fave easy one-night child-full breaks! Pool is fine, everything close at hand.

Email just popped up from Bluechain, hoping for return to full functionality in a couple of weeks. They’re hoping to resolve the Amex issue, one of them told me yesterday.. here’s hoping…

Well done. We still haven’t managed a long haul business flight yet, even though we have a BAEC voucher and a Barclays, and a fair amount of Avios.
