@AL – I was looking for a way to avoid paying £100+ for 10 days parking at MAN in August, and also avoid drop off fees (don’t want to leave the car at the rather remote Park and Ride for that long). We’re going to leave the car on my mum’s drive, about 20 mins from MAN, then get an Uber to the Hilton DT. This costs £20 each way, according to the app, as opposed to £30 each way to the actual terminal.

Handy tip, thanks, what’s your mums address, do we need to reserve it in advance?

Well it was more about having found somewhere (hopefully) to be dropped off without the extra fee, but I’m sure she’d negotiate, lol.

I was told by my last Uber driver that the CP is also outside the drop off fee zone. However I really don’t want to drag my extra large suitcase all the way from either hotel across the roads and apalling pavements in the rain

@davefl The CP car park is worse that the pavements. The walk to T1 is OK but it’s a long way to T2 using the upper level walkways.

The bull**** coming out of MAN’s PR department hit new lows last week when the barrierless exits were finally comissioned.

They say the drop off charge is to stop people parking/waiting for excessive periods. Well if that’s so and they know by your license plate precisely how long you’ve been there, why not just give everyone 5 mins free, and charge for longer waits – Don’t answer, it’s rhetorical.

Well at least in a couple of years time when they make the current T1 entrance into the entry point for the gates at T3, there will be a covered indoor path from T2 to T3. I do wonder if they’ll drop the T3 label eventually and just call it T1 to reduce confusion.

We used to call it a retail park with a runway attached. It looks more like a car park with a runway attached now.

Can you imagine the extra retail that is gping to be added when pax have to arrive at T1, and walk the refurbished corridor to T3? Not to mention the upstairs (ex-BA lounge) being turned into a 500 seat bar and 200 seat dining.
