I try to book with BAH or the BA/Avis site for car hire but have had issues with Avios posting. Even when I try to chase up using the missing mileage claim forms I often hit a dead end; I just wondered if this is common?
Examples
1) Rented a car in Romania with Avis as a one way rental for 4 days in April, booked via BA/Avis site. Avios not awarded so submitted a claim. Initially told by Avis CS Romania was not a qualifying location. I then asked for a list of non qualifying locations and then Avis CS came back and said rental was eligible for 1083 Avios. Recently tried to chase this and was told that they had sent across the Avios and to chase my “frequent flyer provider for any inquiries”. I also made a claim for 1000 bonus Avios for a first time rental as Avis Preferred customer which actually credited pretty quickly. Still no sign of the base Avios.
2) Rented a car in Northern Ireland with Budget a few years ago, booked as a BAH package. Tried to submit claim but recurrently told rental agreement number was not valid. In the end as it was I think 250 Avios I gave up.
Contrast this with Sixt and QR privilege club and Avios was credited within 2 weeks of end of rental, without any chasing.
Any one else have ideas/experiences to share?

I’ve never had a problem with Avios crediting via avis/ba or the avis.com/uk site.
The one rental that I credited to Best Western because there was a 4000 point bonus promotion hasn’t come through. I chased it after 6 weeks and was told to wait 90 days. It’s unclear whether that’s 90 after the rental or 90 after that email. My BW number is clearly listed on the RA so they have no excuse here.
Tried for the 10% Amazon cashback as well but that never appeared and I couldn’t be bothered to chase that one.

Looking back it’s typically 7-10 before they show on BAEC
Avios have always been paid for US and Canada rentals, but I did two rentals in Japan this year – booked through the UK site – which haven’t paid. The rentals don’t even show in my Avis preferred account. I think the JP offices created new records for the rentals, while honouring the price at which they were booked. I couldn’t be bothered chasing.
