Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club “Combine my Avios is not available at the moment”

BA won’t let me combine my Avios – I am trying to send some Avios to Iberia.

Is this a common problem please?

Yes. Very. If you are in a household account you need to create an intermediary account with Aer Lingus (or Veuling I believe) and move it across in stages.

Also, sometimes it’s easier to pull it across from one account (eg log into Iberia to pull it from BA) and sometimes easier to push it (eg log into BA and send it to Iberia).

Another point, take out the letters from your post code of your address in your Iberia account, leaving just the numbers, that can help!

    Here’s a possibly useful link:

That was fixed a while back. There shouldn’t be a problem any more transferring directly to/from a BA household account member.

It’s not the most reliable process but I generally have few problems with it these days. Never heard of people having to remove the letters from their postcode!

Before transferring to Iberia, make sure the account is active, i.e. has had activity within the past 3 years. There have been reports of people transferring Avios to inactive accounts and immediately expiring!

I had trouble for many, many months moving them until someone suggested a month or two ago the removing letters and leaving only numbers in the postcode in Iberia and it worked like a dream after that!

    You’re welcome 😉

For others benefit, the problem is that Iberia requires you to input your address (including postcode/zip code) to allow combine my avios to work. It does not require it to open an Iberia account with them and use normally but it does need to be input to facilitate avios transfers. You can find it in your personal information input somewhere in the menus. This is what confused me and I had to call customer services to figure it out when it wouldn’t allow me to transfer avios. It is not clearly stated that it’s required but customer service told me it is.

Another problem is their data field for postcode/zip code entry does not permit letters. So I tried entering my UK postcode without the letters and it was accepted. After doing this I could combine/move avios without issue

I keep getting the same problem on the Avios site when trying to combine Aer Lingus & BA.

I log into Avios using my AerClub details but it keep saying “Combine Avios Not Available – have checked and personal details appear to match on both accounts

    Anyone any ideas?

    THanks
