Yes, separate, though may be subject to different amounts/Ts and Cs.
Has anyone tried to get cash out in Japan using the metal card? Just want to check that no experience of the card getting stuck in the machine?
Also if I buy Yen in the UK at an actual shop, if I pay using curve does it count towards my fronted?

I tried using the card at – I think – Thomas Exchange and it flatly refused to work (fronted on). This was some years ago. I’d not try again given so many underlying cards are now correctly seeing “cash like” transactions as cash and charging £££ for them. If you have easy access to the London specialists phone up in advance and offer actual cash, you may get a better rate than online.
The £400 limit was based on what a Sainsbury’s ATM let me withdraw recently – I guess that was specific to the ATM rather than the curve card, which I now see has a higher limit.
I managed to withdraw my full £500 30 day rolling limit from a Sainsbury’s ATM this morning.

Look carefully at how the underlying card treats this withdrawal. I think the MCC has changed and many credit card providers are applying cash advance fees.
Just received an updated schedule from Curve – they are binning off the rolling 30days rubbish, now resets 1st of the month.
I’ve not read through yet but think there may be other tweaks.
Link to schedule 21/3/24, applies from today:

Looks like someone from Curve does indeed read these forums, just got an updated schedule – clarification on when a weekend fee arises, and no more 30 rolling day nonsense, which is definitely great news!
So it’s back to calendar months? It’s not like Curve to be this obliging, maybe another devaluation of benefits is looming?!

Good god I hope not, wouldn’t wanna lose that 11p cashback I got for the 13 euro Uber in Athens the other week!
What a professional financial entity Bendy is!
Maybe it’s to make up for the most recently implemented non-cooperation between Bendy and Beardy 🤷♀️

That’d be more welcome, then!
Interesting! I was struggling to count to 30. I had an email about weekend fees, but nothing about the change back to calendar month. Good to know!
“As the changes outlined above are all either clearly in your favour or clarificatory in nature, they will apply with immediate effect”
IANAL but this looks written by a student. If history teaches us something is that nothing is clear with Curve..
If history teaches us something..
Funnily, as I was out for my run earlier and thinking about the changes, almost the exact same words ran through my mind!
Mine was in relation to the fronted reset on 1st April – it would be very sensible to do a small testing payment, first.
Can I just confirm that I can use my metal curve up to £5000 a month free outside of UK/EU in addition to my £3000 allowance a month in uk

I actually had to google “clarificatory”, who on earth talks like that, you would almost think (like everything else Curve seems to do), it had been written like that just to confuse you…
No email from them yet, but just got a “terms” update in the app.
A long read, but specifically on the 1k ATM and 3k Fronted, it now says “per calendar month”, not “1st of month”, and effective from today, 21st March.
I cant remember what it said before, was it “rolling 30 days”?Yep.
Who’s going first then with fronted? 🫣
Some reddit people have stated they did £3k fronted at beginning of March and did a test transaction after the announcement and it had no fronted fee. Could be that the limit is reset today, then reset again 1St April.

You are confusing diff limits. 5k is for international funding – using non uk or non eu cards.

I’ve used up my 3k front last week. I just did a test with front on, and got charged 2.5%. So had to GBIT..

New terms apply “as of 21 March 2024”, so should already be in effect. It sounds as though they are treating early March transactions as part of the March ‘Calendar Month’, even though the transaction occurred under the old terms. The change from rolling 30 days to calendar month is still a major improvement.

“Some months have more than 30 days, some months have less – it can be hard to keep track. So we’ve listened to your feedback and will now reset your limits on the first of every calendar month. Easy!”
