Anyone else get this update last week? (Not seen it discussed) effective from 03/11/23
It’s dropped down the Recent Topics list now , but there was a lot of chat here

So spend £10K on 1st October and then again on 1st November.
Will use this to pay off HMRC.
If I cancel Curve Metal do I get any pro rata fee refund. My card year started in May.

As above, you will have to ask them. They don’t officially offer pro-rata refunds but may do owing to the change of terms. If they do, they would be perfectly entitled to calculate it on the basis of charging the monthly fee plus potentially the £50 for the metal card so you may not get much back for your premature cancellation.
I must be the only Curve customer not to have had this email yet!
The support is beyond a joke. I sent a message over a week ago to downgrade, then another, no response. Now today on the app when you click support nothing happens at all,

Same here, being trying to downgrade for weeks and they have taken a payment today. Chatbot is useless, no one ever replies, have messaged and email and the phone line “leave a message” no matter what option is pressed.
Quick question and apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but, as a Metal card holder, can Curve charge you if you make a ‘fronted’ transaction with ‘fronted’ turned off. Reason I ask is that I made what I thought would be a ‘fronted’ transaction but with the toggle turned off and it went through. I had assumed that it would not go through so did it more as a test because I thought that if fronted is toggled off, you cannot be charged the 1.5%. Maybe the transaction does not trigger the ‘fronted’ criteria.
Ps. I made the transaction using PayPal linked to my Barclays Avios as the underlying payment card.
PayPal just froze my funds : (….Just hoping they don’t close my account now. Poop.

After use with Curve?

I made this mistake last week, didn’t think anything of it but I’m not sure how official this curve and PayPal relationship is. Just like how Amex hate curve, and Virgin slap a 5% ‘cash advance’ fee on anything with curve, PayPal very quickly triggered money laundering checks for a small curve transaction and I still can’t access my account. No idea who they report this to but I’ve also had multiple issues with Barclaycard since for normal day to day transactions being queried for fraud since. Quite worrying as I’m about to apply for a mortgage and concerned I have a marker on me or something due to PayPal.
Basically, curve was good while it lasted! £3k fronted is better than nothing.
Oh dear, doesn’t sound like much fun. Don’t think I’ll be linking my PayPal account to Curve anytime soon. Thanks for the heads up on this thread.
I can’t believe you were ever considering it, @Harrier25! Introducing 2 unstable elements to one another will always result in chaos.
Hadn’t really @NorthernLass. Struggled to think of a reason to link them, but never will now. 🙂
I’ve upgraded to Metal today – Can I start making fronted payments straight away or do I need to wait for the new card?
