Third time lucky, I hope, travelling to Colorado and New Mexico in early April. We have 3 nights in Denver to do touristy stuff. Any recommendations for a nice central hotel (cash, not points). Is the Kimpton Monaco a good choice? Only the 2 of us, so doesn’t have to be family friendly…
Thank you
Pre covid…. But yes, was always my first choice. Nice rooms, friendly staff. Free Happy hour drinks and snacks. In house Italian restaurant was excellent and as a Kimpton/IHG member you get free drinks/appetiser/something. Great location- walkable to Larimer. Recommend you book Rioja (artichoke tortellini- trust me!) and if you like boots… be very wary of scarpeletto also on larimer. Their selection of cowboy boots is dangerous!
We are regular visitors to Denver so pleased to hear of others heading there. Not as exciting as the Kimpton, but we are normally now staying at the Homewood Suites/Hampton Inn Convention Center (it’s a combined building with the two hotels sharing). It’s almost always reasonably priced, free breakfast, fantastic location and gives us more $$$ to spend on fun Denver stuff instead. Homewood also does free wine hour Mon-Thu.
So many excellent recommendations for this city – if the Denver Mint has reopened by then, that’s a less-common but great visit.

I’ve stayed at this Hampton Inn. I chose it for location and value for money. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable.
