Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Dynamic pricing – partner airlines?

  • 16 posts

I see that Flying Blue also applies dynamic pricing to flights on partner airlines. Has there been any further info on any potential changes to this part of the current FC setup?

As I’ve posted before, there are currently some real sweet spots when booking awards on partner airlines through VS FC. If you’re thinking about using your points on a partner airline, perhaps now is the time to do it…I wouldn’t be surprised if these (currently) fixed partner awards are to go or change too. Kinda shameful also for VS to be doing a similar deal for buying points atm as they did a few months back, when no one knows what they’ll be able to do with them, or their future value.

Sadly that’s life but I did buy some points for an SQ award which worked great. But I agree with the above, using Flying Blue on Delta is dynamic. I see no reason why VS Will be any different. I’d get booking ASAP.

Can you post that again please, airlines and routes?

Who are you addressing that to, Roger? In my case it was a KLM one-way economy Dublin to Zanzibar via AMS, which I got for 12,000 and €140 at the beginning of February.

I’m now looking at coming back. I’ll probably do a cash fare from Tanzania to Paris. Then I can do a ‘multi city’ CDG-AMS, stay there 2 nights, then AMS to Belfast in business for 16,000 points + €78. It allows enough time for the lounges in both CDG and AMS. All KLM, booked through VS with the current arrangements. Fewer points required than you’ll find on the Flying Blue site.

I was also wondering the same thing, poor if they change partner airlines on October 30th but didn’t bother including it in the announcement but do airlines ever announce changes to partner rewards?

For me Bristol – Frankfurt at 4,000 miles in economy is a sweet spot now Lufthansa no longer fly direct.
