Just had a return flight cancelled yesterday due to Storm Isha, where we were rebooked for this morning. Will BA normally refund our expenses (hotel and food)?
Yes they will, you’ll need to submit a claim via the website. It’s under Help/ Bookings/ Expenses and Compensation. Just upload photos of receipts and quick explanation, total claim plus bank details for reimbursement. Make it as easy as possible for the agent to review and agree the claim. They will cover necessary additional costs. e.g. taxi if it was.a very early return flight and you could reasonably have got metro for your booked departure. Can take 4-6 weeks to process but in my experience they are fair on what they will reimburse.
