@skywalker – I haven’t re-checked the terms, but while you need an eligible holiday to qualify for double TP, those TP do attach to each individual flight so should be (back)dated to the flight date, but the execution isn’t as clean as that, something they probably won’t fix as it really only affects those with holidays very close to their renewal date. However, I think BAH will help fix this as they do with similar issues like making sure ORC get the double points, as well as putting them in the right collection year.
@JDB I knew you’d come and put things right – thanks! 😀
Are there any other (better) email addresses the OP can try?
@Skywalker. You’re assuming the flight was 6 Dec 23 not 22. I think AJA is correct. OP is 85 TP short.
2022-2023 TPs
LGW-PFO in J = 160 bonus TP credited on 15 Dec (rtn flight on 6 Dec)
LGW-RAK in J = 160 + 160 BAH
LCY-AMS = 5+5
LCY-DUB in J = 80 + 80 BAH
LHR-NCE = 5+5
LHR-BUD = 5+10
= 675 TP
@TGLoyalty – I’m not assuming anything – OP stated their flights here in their breakdown
Edit – I see what you mean now! Yes, it could well be 2022 and not 2023
I think @rooey shouldn’t bother trying to adjust this. I’m not sure BA will adjust it anyway. Plus, if the TP for his current trip on Qatar to KUL and back post to BAEC, he will be upgraded to Silver anyway. That means he will have Silver status until 31 Jan 2026 anyway.
The time to fix this was last December when the TPs first posted and @rooey could have called Exec Club and used the grace period provisions and have them credited back. But over 2 months later that isn’t really an option.
This shows why we as passengers need to carefully monitor our TP earnings and collection year dates and not rely on what the app shows relating to status years.
My experience of having a BA hol close to collection year end days was that the doube TPs posted a couple of weeks after the return and thus in my new year. I was happy with that as I didn’t need them in my old year and it gave me a head start on the new year.
The BA HOls entries in my account history just show as BA Hols with no details about airports or dates of flights so not connected to either the out or inbounds.
I found out today that my BA status was downgraded for no reason. After calling the helpline then the service desk staff said that she would request to put my oringal status back.
Unbelievable.
They might not show to YOU that doesn’t mean they don’t show to the system deciding on your qualification criteria or a person manually checking it.
They are connected to the original flights so them posting in one year not the other doesn’t mean you’ll get status based upon that.
And obviously it could see that as the OP seems to have been correctly downgraded. If they flew prior to 7th Dec 22
@BA Flyer IHG Stayer, I think the BA Holidays bonus TP for @rooey were related to the 2021-2022 year so over 14 months ago not just 2 months ago.
If you have had bonus TP credited to your current year from flights on a BAH booking that happened in a prior year I would not rely on them counting towards retaining or gaining status in your current year.
I think BAEC can see the TP are related to a prior year and will be ignored in working out whether you have gained or retained status.
@AJA it would be helpful if Rooet clarified the dates as it does seem to be causing confusion
They did count for me because I monitor my TPs closely and they were definitely included as I renewed gold including them. If they weren’t included my renewal wouldn’t have come through for a few months more.
Hi all,
Just an update for anyone interested (or similar affected). I contacted BA via X (Twitter) and they raised a case for me.
After a few back and forth messages, I received this message yesterday: “I’d just like to give you a quick update on your case with our Executive Club team. They’ve reviewed your account and have requested your membership status be upgraded back to Silver”.
I am pleased to say that as of this morning, I am now Silver again! 🙂
So, it is worthwhile persisting. Thanks to everyone for your help!!!! 🙂
I am pleased for you. Good news I think although as I said upthread it might have been better to regain status based on this year’s flights.
Have the TP credited from your recent QR flights ?
Thanks @AJA. The TP has credited for MXP to DOH. Still waiting for DOH to KUL, and the ones back (which I took only 2 days ago).
In any case, with the completion of this roundtrip to KUL, I would have been Silver again. This puts me in good stead for when the new March/April change kicks in. Phew!
