    I can’t remember what I normally do 🙁

Should I pay with the Platinum Card

Should I pay with BA Premier Plus card

If I pay opt to pay locally, should I pay with a FX fee free card? Or maybe swallow the 3% fee and use one of the above cards.

Bearing in mind that I have additional insurance via the Amex Platinum card.

If the hire period is not short, the free excess insurance may be worth using that card.

There is a £50 cashback if you spend £250 at Hertz available on some cards (it’s on my PRGC) at the moment, so if you have that on your Platinum or BAPP and your hire period is long enough to cost £250, then that might be a good option?

    Sadly UK only.

Having dug deeper, I do not think it makes any difference for the insurance purposes.

The Avis version works for foreign rentals, despite the t&cs saying it doesn’t.
So who knows whether this Hertz version will do likewise.

If you had the £250/£50 offer on your BAPP and prepaid (even for a non-UK rental) you should get the credit if spending over £250, and no forex fee either!

You could pay with a Disney debit card if that is such a thing, the Amex insurance will still cover.
